I got news for you. I coach 4 year old "beginners" and they cant do any of these drills. If you are coaching a groups of "normal kids" don't expect it to go near this well. This little guy is AMAZING. Your average 4 year old can not do a stationary dribble let alone weaving through the cones.. And you better get a pre school basket too, that hoop is at least 7 ft high..
It’s just work it’s his son he has a lot of time in a coaching setting you put them in situations it not enough time to really get them like this you teach iq and easy techniques they can at least keep reppin on their own
I played and have coached adults in the military. This will be my first season coaching children. I appreciate you offering these tips. I look forward to using them with my team! Thank you.
If they can't bounce with one hand standing still yet, then just have them bounce with 2 and catch at the waste to develop the early needed coordination for one handed dribbling... I'm guessing lol
Starting to use these drills on my 4 year old. He already had an aptitude for sports but I wanted a training guide that would help him get more refined. So far so good. The Howard Elite Basketball videos are great. Keep up the good work.
That's great to hear!!! more importantly make sure you try to put in as much time as possible and sign your 4 yr old up to play competitively so the drills can make since to them
I absolutely love this video! it's put together great and super easy to understand. my son's 5 and is about to start basketball and I know absolutely nothing. thanks for being so helpful!!!
First off this good you out there putting in the time to work with your son. I also have been working with my son since 5 years old and he 10 now and best kid in his age group. I personal train kids from 4 on up to high school. The only thing I stress at this age is all the traveling. I coached my son 1st/2nd grade league when he was 6 and all the kids travel though there other basic skills wasn't that bad. Now Im about to start training my 4 year old daughter who been dribbling a standard size ball since 3. Once we get into drills like this the traveling part I will also focus on. To me with the skills your son have I know he could adjust to that now..Hope yall get better bro and good job
Unbelievable, this kid is amazing. From my experience from what i hear, this kind of pushing is a great recipe for burn out. I hope not for this kid but it was for me. I'd say at such a tender age fun is huge part for longevity in sports, it's a fine balance between motivating your kid and over pushing . But there are a lot of factors, just don't break his spirit man, it's not worth it. Beautiful to watch though. So good.
I've been coaching 5 and 6 year old players since the early 90's when my two sons were that age. Great video! I really like the tennis ball drill at this age. I will encourage our volunteer coaches to watch some of your videos. Thanks for posting! - Coach Tim
Yea I used to go to SMS back in the GAP. I found your videos after my youngest son took a liking to basketball. I can see the passion he has for the game. He's only 2. But thank you for putting these videos up bruh. Ill use them as a tool for my boys. Go Comets!
I want to thank you for sharing. My little man loves basketball and likes working out thank God. We start using some of your drills when he was 3 now he is looking like a little stud out there.
I start tiny tikes (5-6 yr old) practice today and will use some of these drills. I also come here for drills for the other ages I coach....great videos!!
Awesome video bro. Im just starting out coaching a youth basketball team since they did not have enough coaches. This video pretty gave me the curriculum for mt 1st couple of practices.
This is great I got a 5 year old son I want to start training for basketball. Love the video bro. Would love to see an update on your son progression 💯🔥
Here in UK its hard to get girl ino bball at her tender age of (almost) 4. Basketball was a big part of my life. Thank you for your videos. And wish me luck
Love this!!! My daughter is 7 and is in Little Dribblers our little country town! Unfortunately they have only had 3 Practices and have 1 left before the first game! My daughter loves dribbling the ball and practicing taking shots but as soon as the 2 Parent coaches had them play like they were in a real game she lost interest! I really think it's because she doesn't exactly understand what she is supposed to be doing. The Parent Coaches haven't really had a lot of time to do 1 on 1 etc. I'm not sure if it's because they didn't know they would be the coaches until 2 weeks before the game or because they have been busy with the Holidays but I do know the other Elementary Grades started Practice a month ago. I would really love for her to give it a chance and not give up! I guess it's time for me to learn all about basketball because I have no clue! I've never really done any kind of sports other than Soccer when I was around her age, but I would really like to practice at home with her! Maybe with 1 on 1 time at home she will get more excited about the game! I'm def going to use your video!
Coach Howard. Can you make more videos of your 4 year old learning to play. Like shouting techniques, guarding techniques, passing drills...etc. My daughter is 9 and has never touched a basketball so i need to teach her all the basic fundamental skills. Your 4 year old seems advanced though i need step by step to get her that way.
Great work. Seems like a great dad and super talented son. Don't see how you balance work with this level of training and the recommended reading and all other things. He must be a quick study.
This is awesome because my child wants to come to the court with me, but gets frustrated that he doesn't met the net yet... this will give me something to do with him to keep his head in the game
Very nice brother. Start them young. My son is 3 going on 4 and about to start him on these drills. This video is well appreciated. Keep up the good work.
+Howard Elite Basketball That's great. I will be on the lookout. Currently working on left hand definition and control with my boys. as this summer's goal as well as shooting.
🙌🏽 my son starts peewee , n they made me the coach 😭 never coached in my life so I’m not sure what to expect haha or what I should implement in a 30min practice
Great drills. Definitely going to use those cone stacking drills in practice for my 1st/2nd grade girls team. I feel like at their age, ball-handling / dribbling is one of the most important skills to learn.
i did these exact drills today with my 7-8 year old youth team and it went great, let me know about any videos u posted about offensive plays for kids PLEASE
Great video Coach!!! I'm starting as a k/1 coach for the YMCA and this will help a lot. I will subscribe to see if you have more I can use. Thanks HEB!!!
man thank you for this video!! I've ol aged basketball since a youth but when it comes to showing my 4 year how to play I'm at a lost..lol..thanks again

Fr bro is better than me😂
Hahaha yup….parents dont compare your 4,5,6,7 or 8 year old to this kid!
It’s just work it’s his son he has a lot of time in a coaching setting you put them in situations it not enough time to really get them like this you teach iq and easy techniques they can at least keep reppin on their own
This! Lol
I agree i just put my 4year old in basketball they cany stationary dribble, barely walk and dribble and dang sure cant gwt to the 7ft rim
man this kid has a future in Ballislife lol
😂
I wish my parents were the ones that made me interested in basketball at a young age
Big Smoke YEP ME TOO BRO
Big Smoke 0:30 we /he is not a dog. He really got us playing fetch.
Yet you iiiuyyyted🔥🔥🤯🔥🤣🗣️🌟🌟🙂😜😜🙂😐😤😐♥️
I played and have coached adults in the military. This will be my first season coaching children. I appreciate you offering these tips. I look forward to using them with my team!
Thank you.
I teach basketball to 4-5 year olds in China. This kid is better than all of mine combined lol
Same for me! But… Amir probably grew up in a gym, and from my experience all kids that grow up in a gym are significantly better than the others.
Even mine in China too
How do you even get them to start bouncing the ball? My 5 yr old can't do three good bounces.
If they can't bounce with one hand standing still yet, then just have them bounce with 2 and catch at the waste to develop the early needed coordination for one handed dribbling... I'm guessing lol
It's a game of patience, language barrier settings and again... Parents must sit down and not disturb you.
Real Talk this just made me cry,,the LOVE FOR BASKETBALL IS MY ALL...TEARS OR JOY
It looks like u been working wit the lil dude for a while. for him to be 4 years old crossing oer through cones is impressive
Jeff’s you have had

GreatLakez HeadLinerz how could the person who is a coach and listens to feedback make you triggered?
Do you know anyone in the Atlanta area that offers basketball training for young kids, primarily ball handling. I'm in Gwinnett area.
What size hoop were you on meaning like what height?
Love it man, always good to see another father putting in work with their kids.
After 5 drills
Kids like: dad I am tired
Dad: what you mean you tired , we still have work to do.
😂😂😂😂😂
Starting my coaching journey with my 3yr old lil man tomorrow at the local Y.. definitely gonna use these drills.. thanks for sharing!!
I absolutely love this video! it's put together great and super easy to understand. my son's 5 and is about to start basketball and I know absolutely nothing. thanks for being so helpful!!!

Unbelievable, this kid is amazing. From my experience from what i hear, this kind of pushing is a great recipe for burn out. I hope not for this kid but it was for me. Vlad Narancic yo word can you elaborate more on this subject?
I dunno man. When he's better than everyone on the youth team hes gonna be gassed up not disheartened . Flip side
It's gotta be fun.

@M Doubt it. Especially with the attention span getting smaller and smaller. People want to see action. Soccer can go a whole game and only be 1-0!
These drills are amazing bro. And your son is so good at them. He’s a natural lol 🫶
Going to use my these drills for my kids who are now interested in starting basketball...
this is crazy. im very impressed with his ball handling skills.
Yea I used to go to SMS back in the GAP. I found your videos after my youngest son took a liking to basketball. I can see the passion he has for the game. He's only 2. But thank you for putting these videos up bruh. Ill use them as a tool for my boys. Go Comets!

Thank you for putting this video up. I volunteered at the Rec Center and will be using these drills in practice.
I want to thank you for sharing. My little man loves basketball and likes working out thank God. We start using some of your drills when he was 3 now he is looking like a little stud out there.
Great drills for the kids. Lil man has got game!!

Bro the slow motion of him going in and sinking the layup had me cracking up.
Awesome video. Glad to see good dads out there
Wow, you must have some serious patience... That kid is good. Good job coach.
Thank you so much! Tapped to coach 4 year old girls... I can work with this!
Dang, that cone stack drill is nice, teaches you how to focus on other tasks while not losing your dribble..
I'll be coaching my 4 year olds team this year and I will use these drills....Thanks a lot man!
This is inspiring and helpful tips. My 3 year old loves basketball. I named him after Julius Erving.
I’m teaching my little brothers about the game I think this we’ll help 💯🏀❤️
