Such a cool demonstration and teaching. An intelligent man employing simple means. One thing I learned this year. Plant many and you will not be disappointed. As a retired man, I am beginning to really like this idea of planting berries, currently I have an excellent beginning to a food forest, elderberry, blackberry, Rasberry, strawberry, and crazy other stuff like wild lettuce, and fireweed right here on my property in New Brunswick Canada. My main regret is that I did not discover this when I was 20, so many vast resources contained on All of our beautiful land. Just loved the way Mike kicked the dirt back in with his foot. If you never start you never finish, and the best place to start is keep it simple, berries make great sense...Thanks Mike
I learned about elderberry just this year and I have 6 gallons of steamed juice canned now from wild bushes here in Northern Maine. I’ve been watching several elderberry propagation TH-cam videos and this is a really good one. Very useful information presented. Thanks.
Good video! I planted one elderberry alongside my house some years ago, not knowing how to manage it. It gradually moved itself and its offspring into the driveway to get more sun. You have inspired me to grab some cuttings, do some pruning, and learn to take advantage of this treasure in my yard. Many thanks!
Wonderful video. Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge! You mentioned another video about harvesting. I would love to see that if you might include that link... either way, thanks!!
I am trying to start an elderberry patch here in Ohio. I have acreage but starting with about 12 plants. They are not even a year old but just hoping they all make it
great video! really appreciate it. i'm looking forward to attempting this next spring. i fear the window has closed already this year, but i might give it a whirl anyway as my mom has elderberry on her place.
hi, can I cross pollinate american elderberry with another variety? or does it need to be another American elderberry. I am simply planting another elderberry for for more berries. What would you suggest for a second elderberry variety?
Great video. Thx for sharing your experience. I’m looking to plant 3 or 4 in my garden for my grandkids to enjoy. Any recommendation on a favorite variety? Thx!!!
I started to plants in the fall of 2022. They'll soon be when you're old and they are 6 foot tall and bushy. I would like to get a variety of genetics and would love to purchase a few stems from you. How do I do that?
Omg! I live in California, do you have have blue elder berry root stock? Have you ever grown it? If so can you tell me your experience with it? Looking to start a patch.
