Thanks for posting for the posting five the years I have own a Rover Rancher 547/38 (that is realy a MTD lawn tractor with Rover name on it ) But it been grate. Even though I mow My quarter acre block ever two weeks I only mow it for only half an hour at a time. You know at mowing with it at a half hour ever two weeks that one hour total per month. So I would only mow 12 hours total per year. Over the last five years I have had it , I have done only 60 hours total over five years at 60 hours the engin would be barly run in LOL Yet over the last five years with with mowing sandy soils and running in to thick pachers of grass. I have gone though two deck belts and also two lots of blades. Just to let you know mowing grass on sandy soils, the sand will grinds away at your blades and hiting thick pacers of grass will jam up your deck belt. But even though over the last five years it only done 60 hours I finly decided to change the filter and oil LOL . I was told to make it last longer I would need to put grease niples in the shaffs .

Good one Ray. Mine is about 11 or 12 years old. I don't mow very short so don't have problem with soil grinding blades away. I've had to replace the electric clutch about two years ago and i have replaced all the pully bearings. I try not to wash with the hose unless I've been mowing wet grass. The leaf blower cleans it up nicely without water getting into bearings etc. Cheers mate.

@@RossT47 I just love this mower But I did have a problem with the hour meter I did not know you got to take the key out of the mower to stop the hour meter working it only done 12 hours and I had over 100 hours and it flatten the battery It cost $100 .00 when had to replace it . Be careful of cutting long grass over two ft 2400 mm only do 100mm at a time to much grass it will jam the blades and the motor pully will either burn into the cutting belt or brake it. If it burned in to the belt the mower will still cut but it will also vibrate the mower as the belt out of balance. If you have to replace the deck belt it is far easier to take the deck off. Also reguly check you tie pressure. If you leave you mower out side water will cause a reaction in the edge of the body just spray the body edge with WD40.
