I don't know about Pyrex but Corning Ware gets brittle with age and will crack if you even bang it up against something else that is hard. I've lost two really nice casserole dishes with covers that stacked inside of each other. I am no longer buying any older ones. Actually, the clear Pyrex starts chipping but I haven't had one break so I can't use it. I just run the sharp edge on my glass grinder to smooth it out.
I'm not sure about them chipping or anything I have not kept any of the pyrex we got and if I did keep some I probably would not use it cause some of it is too pretty!

Yea me too! Watch out for some pyrex…they sometimes develop hair cracks and explode in the oven. Ask me how I know!
