For anyone wondering. Reverse layout from what you want. Trace it with sharpie. Cut with an electric turkey carving knife. It will look as good as it can.

The secret sauce to this coming out so good is the spray on tool dip. I use it on all of my case builds, helps preserve the integrity of the foam and makes it look so much better!

Looks Great! I did something similar. Except I used a homebuilt hotwire for cutting and left a small spot in the roof loose to hold my folder of SBR paperwork for the range trips.
@MKemp-dr4xe less to do about the range and more about the wandering PO that may be around. They ask for verification, and you can not provide it. They confiscate your very expensive weapon until you can prove it.

I always thought they and to get an extra NFA serial number engraved in the item, that way if any police ever does question the veracity of the NFA tax stamp, the serial number would provide an easy means for them to look it up? Is this just you playing it safe, or does the actual nfa paperwork say you must be able to provide the tax stamp any time you are questioned?
@rokstr222ify No "extra" serial number is assigned, unless you're building something from nothing, then you assign the serial number to the item. You get your completed paperwork back with a tax stamp and an approval signature. That paperwork is your proof, I leave all originals locked up and have multiple copies, both hard and digital.

Looks pretty good! I just wish there were an easy way to get rid of the jagedry of the cuts without having to have it professionally done in a factory by a laser machine. I tried a hot knife but it ends out even worse because it melts everything obviously! Laser is so hot that it quickly turns the cut into powder basically and doesn't melt

Very nice but mags are a little off and I would keep pistol mags closer to the pistol and add maybe a couple more. Seems like you have the room for it and add one more 30 rounder to it but very nice nonetheless. Thanks for the vid.

My Plano case came with the pre-cut little square foam and it SUCKED so bad to cut it accurately lol. It turned out great but it would have been way easier had it been foam like this. Great guns too btw!

I was thinking the same thing, then I realized you can actually buy replacement foam and if you really wanted to, you could cut out multiple foam liners for different guns and or different combinations of guns. You’d have lots foam inserts and only the one hard case to worry about storing
No everyone has a specific need for their own case, you can have a case dedicated to just mags nobody has the right to tell YOU what YOU shouldve done to YOUR case. Good stuff man
@ryan370 yes it does but you need to buy the regular stock which can be found for around $280-290, then buy the brace adapter on their website which is $15, after you get the brace adapter you need to buy the Gear Head Works Tailhook, which is sadly $140. Pretty expensive to turn into a brace but yes you can do it.
@vietnamtactical just looked it up as well. Looks like gearhead works is a company that'll never get a dollar from me. I understand supply and demand, but charging $140 for a chunk of aluminum is ridiculous. PSA is selling entire shotguns for that price lol

I've cut it with a very sharp Victorinox 3-1/2" paring knife with very good results

Yes plastidip isnt corrosive to foam, as long as theres no exposed adhesive itll make the foam look great
I made one of these with a guitar case for my CZ scorpion, didn’t think to do the plastidip trick for rigidity, I’ll probably use that, thanks

Looks good. Id cut out two half circles, one on each side of the grips to help grab the weapons out of case easier.

Id only plastidip if you run your gun suppressed, the foam feel almost the same tho not much a difference just a little extra heat protection

This was pluckable pre cut foam, i used the rubber spray to mend the squares together

That and because it was pick’n pluck foam it seals the pluck able foam and protects it from being picked apart or tear from weight
