I'm a HUGE fan of Southern and have been for years,but I must say that they no longer have that DOG in them anymore.Brian Simmons left and took that dog with him.His arrangements had aggression and I miss that.

I went to the Boombox classic JSU sounded great but being there live is totally different and many seen it that day that SU sounded better, and being a former member of the Juke i agree its some stuff SU need to clean up. But so does a lot of these bands but right now SU is on top in my opinion. Everyone has there opinion though. Carry on!

I had a CB that went to UAPB before he came to the U. His backstories were classic about his times at UAPB..Pine Bluff has to be one of the most underwhelming games to play at.
You would be bored too if your team was getting dug year in year out. We want better too 😂 the most exciting schools in the SWAC have a history of winning which makes the band programs great too and the fans more loyal. Must be nice 😂

Waiting for the day SU drum line sounds different. High and low tones from bass drums, snares more crisp and maybe a couple of multiples. The tubas switched up and now they cranking

I’ve tried 4 different levels of earbuds 2 different headphones brands and it still sounds like it coming from a tube in Bikini Bottom.

You know everyone always has something to say, whether good, bad, or indifferent. SU is doing what they want to do, and how they want to do it. I always feel that other bands see SU as the standard, and do their best when against them. Just my opinion!

I been a Juke fan my whole life & something about them this year is different for the first time I may say Southern might be the 3rd best band in the SWAC behind JSU & TxSU (unpopular opinion) 🤷🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️

This is the first time they’ve been in PB in over 20, the 2nd time they’ve gone to a PB game in over 20 yrs. The game was in Little Rock last til the band came.

I been trying to tell them bruh. If it ain’t written by Taylor or the legends of the past, it’s average (at best). ((Todd/Kenneth specifically )) Nobody wants to hear rap tunes you listen to on your iPhone bruh. If a rap tune was written by Mr J, B or Haymer, it was distinctive, simple and aggressive. You can pick up what was being played from the first note. Who says the people in the comments doesn’t have degrees in music or wasn’t apart of the juke? Criticism is warranted because the staff isn’t up to par. Simple as that. And if fans are telling them the issues, that means they ARE trying to make a difference. This generation is just extremely sensitive/soft.I highly doubt they would’ve made it out of band-camp in the Doc era. Instead of coming back stronger, they roll over and cry about it. Like your doing now, respectfully. When your the best at something, you’re held to a standard of excellence. All this “patting on the back” bias fans are doing is just enabling them to fall off. Which means another band will take the spot eventually.

Our band director took us to this game and i liked both bands but southern play one way. I have never seen college bands up close. To me Arkansas had more variety in their sound and they were more clear. I dont think everything has to be that loud like southern because they trumpets were messing up a lot but i like how they could play really high

I mean I like your band. Southern was good. But I couldn't understand all of the parts. Sometimes Arkansas played loud and other times soft. I have seen college bands in person just not the hbu college bands in person. I graduate in 2 years, so I will be auditioning for both schools

Deep south band community giving SU a hard time right now. SU song selection been a little questionable but they been executing whats been put in front of them. But would be nice to hear them get back to killing them top 50, top 10 tunes unlike no other band. Give the people what they want to hear and kill it. Band season not over yet. Man, PB had to do something. Taking Ls both on the field and in the stands isn’t good for the school. The band was formidable in the early 2000s. I know Prof. Hudson passed a few years back but the arrangement staff has to do something new…please.
