@@craig3240 no doubt. What sets this show apart from a lot of others is that they don't add a ton of characters which helps development. Nobody really gets left behind and each character has memorable moments and mingingful fights.
I always loved this anime. When I was a kid not even 6 years old, I stumbled upon it by complete accident. I saw a few episodes sporadically from then on, but Kurama was always my favorite. His poise, his grace, style of fighting...guess I’m an original fan! ^^
I think it can be since in one of his fights (I don't remember which one) he says that giving the opponent a false sense of security and going for a suprise attack is a useful strategic move. Or something along these lines.
The other thing to note is that Kurama looks to understand his opponent's abilities before making his move. So, naturally, this will result in him getting hurt. Of course, to Kurama this is an acceptable risk.
Nah, I think the idea is he needs to get wounded to further understand his opponent, the first few minutes of all his matches are him studying his opponent, he doesnt go on offense until he understands, so that involves him being on the defensive.
He also uses his fights as therapy.... "I have something to work through, sure I'll fight you please beat the shit out of me so I can figure it out. Though I will kill you once I'm done, kthx." + all the other stuff about assessing his opponents strengths that other people have said.
It's probably because he knows that demons will underestimate humans. So when Kurama is in his human form, he already has the advantage as his opponents will almost always immediately underestimate him. Even Yusuke underestimated him on countless occasions.
i wouldn't have watched YYH without Kurama. I saw him on the teaser of the show and i thought " That is such a pretty girl , I gotta watch this "And the show became one of my Favs.

He'll not only plant seedlings across the world millennia in advance just in case, but he'll also torture you into wishing for a quick end if you push his buttons.
