  • We arrive at Ashridge Farm Caravan And Motorhome Club Site, in Ashwell, Hertfordshire, on the first part of our European Trip 2018.
    We stopped off at Clumber Park National Trust for an early lunch, and used the Caravan and Motorhome Club recommended route to get to Ashridge Farm, as it's best to avoid going through Ashwell village.

    Welcome back to Ashwell Bob and Jenny! For your information you can leave the A1 at the services turn. Then turn right at the next roundabout by the services towards Baldock, ignore the left turn for Ashwell continue on into Baldock under the railway bridge by the station then tight left at the traffic lights. 40ft trailers can make it. The road then leads out onto the A505 towards Royston.

    Having seen your bike ride video the other day, do you ever take your bikes on your trips? Belgium and The Netherlands in particular are a delight to cycle around.

    • @BobEarnshawMoHo
      @BobEarnshawMoHo  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for your question. No, I don't take my bike and Jenny doesn't cycle. So, much as I'd like to cycle in Belgium and The Netherlands, we couldn't leave the dogs alone.

    Hi Bob greeting from Ayr was looking at your Ashridge Farm film and was wondering when you left the site to go to Folkestone did you return to the A1M or did you go left and head for the M11 We are staying at Ashridge on the way to the Channel Tunnel later this year and was wondering if the Road to the M11 was quicker?

    • @BobEarnshawMoHo
      @BobEarnshawMoHo  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I can't remember, we've gone both ways, I think the M11 gets you further round the M25. I'd check the traffic reports before leaving.

    How comfortable are the front seats, I drive transit vans at work and I wonder if your seats have extra padding?.

    • @BobEarnshawMoHo
      @BobEarnshawMoHo  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks, we find them extremely comfortable on long journeys. We often sit in them of an evening to watch TV.

    What speed do you cruise at solo on the motorways?

    • @BobEarnshawMoHo
      @BobEarnshawMoHo  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the question. Often around 68mph indicated on the speedo, 65mph actual according to the sat nav.

    Can I stop at clumber park with the caravan?

    • @BobEarnshawMoHo
      @BobEarnshawMoHo  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes there should be enough room. We've seen people staying in caravans on that field.

    How long do your dogs stay in those tiny boxes at any one time. Has left me feeling at bit distressed watching your videos now. Really sorry

    • @BobEarnshawMoHo
      @BobEarnshawMoHo  6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      There us absolutely no need to feel distressed. The dogs are very happy in their crates they are used to being in there, having been crate trained from an early age. The crates are not tiny. They sleep most of the time. I always stop for a break after 2 hours.

    • @bobmckayfreedom
      @bobmckayfreedom 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      The crates aren’t tiny and the dogs are very comfortable and relaxed in them during the journey ..I’ve been sitting beside them before

      Lisa, I've seen Poppy in another video getting on board and happily and very willingly, walk straight into her box, turn around and lie down. I actually think she likes the box.

      TorkGirl8 we call it “her little house” as she often goes in there whenever she wants.

      Thanks for confirming my comment, Jenny. That's lovely to read.
      Hope you all have a lovely trip, I'm looking forward to seeing your videos of it. 🙂
