There were 6 nights at Hammersmith Odeon, live shots, video and audio were taken from these shows, but oil and canvas was mostly overdubs or redone in the studio for oil and canvas. You can see changes like drumming start to Gentlemen take polaroids has a drum intro etc
Always enjoy a Japan track, David’s voice is so distinctive as is their sound. Great insight into the lyrics as usual which always helps me enjoy the song more. Remember David being voted the most handsome man of the time. Intend to listen to more Japan, never really got to grips with their music
Great band, really like their sound! I remember recording this track off of the radio, they did a session for John Peel. Nice one, hope you don't suffer too much with your sore throat.
It's not just hay fever as there seems to be something in the air even during low pollen count. Tin Drum is one of my favourite albums and definitely influenced by Chinese music and culture
I don't use a phone. It's often on charge or somewhere else. Occasionally i'll make a note of a time in the song and write a word down so i can come back to it afterwards. xx
Killer track eletro pop prog old favourite. They where top notch in using synth programming a very original band among all of The main stream 80 ties.
This is from the single live gig they did at the Hammersmith Odeon in 1982 prior to them taking the show to Japan.

Thank you, just a bit of hayfever I think. x
this is my favorite Japan track, the one that got me into them.
David Sylvian wrote the song.

Japaneae music
@@Molluscful Probably a cross influence as a much missed Malaysian friend used to play music similar to this sound
I’ve never known before.
I love your channel, but sometimes it seems you are distracted by your phone and miss some cool bits.

Listened to them in the 80s and they are one of my favourite bands. Do check out the live version of 'method of dance'.. :-)
