She has a gold Gary or it is her revenge on her daughter in law as she says at the end “I will now enjoy your children …” I don’t think she killed her housband , I have a feeling watching this movie that the evidence and conversation were bought.

Imagine grandmother once was to hope to hear apology accept her guilt but a lier stick to her lies. I give my outmost respect to Steven’s mother, a very strong woman who never gave up till the end and the truth prevails… God bless you and you family. @@ryveralexander8511 it's his business partner he has to face the interrogation in court, but nothing happened and he has also to take lie detector. It's obvious he was in the apartment when Steven was murdered. How come he is still alive? What was his role the night of the murder? Evelyn was framed and being taken advantage of her naiveness, her being so young and lack of education, she can't even express her feelings, she can't even shed tears. On that video she looked so distraught, that her mother in law had to shake her shoulders. Evelyn's pain is overwhelming that she could not even shed tears. I know when my brother died, I wasn't able to shed tears although I was so devastated and broken. I had so much pain as I wasn't able to help him.

Why don't you reply what I said about his business partner being alive and why he wasn't killed inspite of being seen by the murderers? Who unlocked the apartment door? The murderers are nonprofessionals that's why his life was spared if they were professionals he would have been already dead long time ago together with Steven..... hmmmm.... professional killers never leave witnesses alive, but they're not, but "someone" hired some naive and uneducated relatives. The relatives are very poor they kill for money. Evelyn is the victim here. I'm not the only one who believes that Evelyn is innocent. It takes a smart and clever plan to kill a business partner. Evelyn is much less educated and very naive about life as she was very young when she married her husband.

In your opinion. Why would the philippine girl cheat with an m chubacca looking man who has significantly less resources?
It was very noticeable he was better looking than her and her lover. It boggles my mind that she did not reciprocate and correct her behavior after he threatened her with a divorce. Rather she plotted to get him killed.
I also noticed she was stunned after the judge sentenced her to 40 years in prison but was not stunned when conspiring the death of her husband. I smelled selfishness and narcissism on this girl.
Having a guy who earns well, now all the sudden she thought she’s high value and began looking down on her family. It doesn’t surprise me, women where i live rate themselves higher than what they’re actually are (social media). The same attitude the philippine girl was inhibiting after some time in the relationship with her husband. She’s below average. same thing with American women, the ones who are below average think their hot. Doesn’t make sense to me how a girl who’s a femcel is considered hot enough for chads and tyrones.

She looked like a kid when they got together. She's 17. And his mum is saying stuff like "He knew she wouldn't dump him because without him she wouldn't have anything." Without making any excuses for what she did, i'm wondering how the parents didn't see the completely unethical nature of the couples power dichotomy? She wasn't 20 and he was 30. Or 30 and he was 40. She was 17 and she looked 14. What she did was evil, but what he did initially is questionable also.

He could have found another lady who was older, then I'd give him some grace!! But all these dirty old men running around with children and just because she's at least 17; that makes it cool: ought to be ashamed of themselves. Then he got the nerve to be upset that she didnt want him to hug her. Yuck! I wouldnt want his paws on me either. These men know good and well, they could find a nice lady in their own country! But no ; he decides to go over seas w/a company because he knows the pickings will be easier to obtain a "child bride"!!

finally. I was looking for someone to comment on this. the crime committed was awful, but we do need to acknowledge that Evelyn is also a victim - not of this story, but in life. she lived with her parents in a house that was not even made of bricks! she left it in hopes to make some money and send back to her parents. she became a prostitute and was still a minor at this point! yet this man, with his white saviour syndrome, sees a completely helpless woman, BUYS HER from the bar/brothel owner, and then later even says to his friend that she is completely dependent on him? he also commited crimes: solicitation of prostitution, human trafficking when he bought her, and financial abuse within domestic violence.
of course, nothing justifies a crime, but I would hope that the judge or anyone from Steven's family, would make a comment regarding this.
either way, I only hope the kids grow up feeling loved.

@@KittenBowl1 False. He sold it even... Jade Cool and Cyber Sisters has been closed at demand of USA even before the court-case. I have reasons to believe Evelyn had made a file to blackmail Steven, but he had the codes ; the girls he put in contact with old rich people in Pilippines, Cambodja, Thailand...were paid in Hong Kong. he had all codes, killing him did protect the associates of Stephen, as was Michael Dunn....and an internet-provider, etc.... So they had noticed she did blackmail him, he didn't believe she could act, but his colleagues were afraid for the consequences, even if Stephen had very high placed clients, means, complices, making him to believe to be untouchable... Senator Arroyo even asured that the girls would be seen as victims and not prosecuted. Question : any client identified ? Was silence the bill for pardon? After all, Evelyn has been "ignored" in that pardon, however, that was a murdercase. So, who was in her file ? ..... She is innocent. And only a campaign to have her free can ...have her free, but killed too. To stop a campain. A child of 12 living in a remote Island deciding to become a prostitute, ands robbing papers because you need to be 14 to work in a dancehall..... ? Nonsense. Biut she had an aunt in Angeles........ Evylin had no chance in defending herself against this kind of money..from the Private Detective to Evylin's lawyer paid and bribed. Yes, her sister and brother inlaw were bribed / trew Evelyn under the bus. This was their last payout out of poverty indirectly from Margarets money. Her son was no innocent person. He was another predator. When he was with Mike Dunn I guarantee they were in no church.. This film transparency is nothing but a display of Predators, and Pedophiles preying on poverty.and innocence. The victim are Stevens and Evelyn's Children. Margret a woman bent on getting revenge directed at the wrong person. Mike Dunn is a predator pedophile manipulator and a bad influence and danger for anyone around him. .

Evelyn was convicted of murder and sentenced to 40 years in prison, without the possibility of parole or remission. The prosecution told the judge that Margaret was not in favour of the death penalty. She wasn't - but not on moral grounds. "I thought it was too good for her," she says. "I wanted her to suffer every day of her life for what she did. "I wanted her to wake up every day knowing that she would never see her children. This is what it is like for me, and it is the worst feeling a mother can experience." But Margaret Davis did not let it end there. She confronted her daughter-in-law in the waiting room outside the court, asking her: "Was it worth it, Evelyn?" "As I left, I said: 'I will tell your children they had a beautiful mummy who did something very bad. She took their daddy's life and she had to pay the price. Goodbye, Evelyn, I will not see you again.'" It was Margaret Davis's ultimate triumph.

She relents and with all the financial security, after awhile, she will want to fill her desires of a genuine attraction. It’s hard to love more than one person. Am I the only one that sees him as a pedophile?? They try to portray him as naive and sheltered and not experienced but he was HIGHLY intelligent! He knew damn well those girls in the bars were underage...as well as the ones he and Mike invited to their homes for the pool parties. He married her when she was seventeen which meant he was seeing her when she was even younger than that! He was more of a daddy to her than a husband and I'm sure he enjoyed having that type of control over her while also having a live in sex doll. I'm not condoning her actions. But you cant take a CHILD from such a desolate place and force her to be a wife by dangling money and security in her face and expect her to understand loyalty. He even said himself that he had all the money so she could never leave him. And his mother KNEW that girl was underage. She KNEW her son was messing with those young bar girls but made excuses for him. Its just sad all the way around.

But he gave her a better life, which was exactly what she wanted, to be rescued by a ‘rich man’, so much better than she’d have had back in her village. And she murdered him in return. If he hadn’t married her, she’d have continued prostituting and would probably be dead of AIDS by now. She could’ve divorced him if she didn’t want to be with him anymore, but she chose to kill him instead. There’s nothing conflicting in this story.

The disgusting predators as Mike Dunn, and the Mother inlaw / Margret praying on the week and meek. .Margret was another predator she spent over $50,000. equivalent to over half a million dollars or more in the Philippines. Where bribery jealousy and spite is the norm in this culture for survival. The Private Investigator Margret hired satisfied.his client / Margret's. wishes.to have her daughter inlay behind bars . With the pariah , predator, pedophile, instigator, Mike Dunn as exhibited in this film. taking no responsibility. When Steven limited Evelyn allowance It.started at the bottom of the food chain her family., This most likely angered them and they had more of a motive to kill Steven. But then, the sister and the brother-in-law stepped up and I don't think they lied for bribery or paid to lie to save their own skin. Just really sad... Because if that thought really existed or happened, then, maybe somebody really benefited the couple's crumpled situation and used it for business interest instead. The investigation just focused on the widow anyway , and they did not consider to investigate the only person who was with the victim in the same building, his business partner who found his bloody body first...in America, I am sure they will also investigate the other significant people around the victim who was there during the crime happened and not only focusing on the cover of the book. Sorry, just wanted to view also the other side of the mirror and not only to the unfaithful wife. Maybe, he is just unfaithful and slut, but not really a criminal-minded... Maybe, she is just also another victim, a perfect tool. We didn't hear the sides of the security guard and the other said accomplice. You can be legally married in the Philippines ( just like the UK) at 16. I'm pretty sure Elvis was older than 27 when he met Priscilla ( and I'm pretty sure she was younger than 17) but presumably you don't think a hit man murdering him would be a suitable punishment for the age gap in that case.
Look, I think it was a very unbalanced relationship from the get go yes. He had all the power and she had none. He basically bought her. I don't see him as some sort of angel, more socially inadequate and desperate for a relationship.
But even if he was the total sleaze bag you paint him as it doesn't remotely justify what she did.
I think she is completely sc#rewed in the head and one look at the parents tellls you where that comes from.
Yes they are dirt poor, but so are liitrally millions in the Philippines and they would never dream of doing this. The parents taught her well, pimped her out at 13 essentially and saw him as nothing more than an ATM from the start.

In rural Philippines, many kids dont go to school; their parents cant afford to send them, even if it's free public school. They haven't clothes (most schools, even public, have uniforms) or can't afford to pay for their transportation there or can't afford school supplies and books (those aren't free). So they don't go to school. Girls cant get an education, can't get a job, so they have only a few choices; work in a local store for almost nothing, become a bar girl in a big city, like Angeles, or become a prostitute, or, if they can speak English and can afford a computer, become a cam model.

Same. But only for the life lost, and three more are ruined forever. Now, let's talk about the fact that these grown men were constantly going to places where they knew, that they could have s.x with minors, then the deceased married minor as well, they were treating them like some sort of domesticated toys, her and her whole family. I am sorry, but that video with these young girls at the pool... boils my blood. What an entitled, privileged, brats. Why his friends are not even questioned, what they were doing in those so-called bars. And also, not one comment mentions minor prostitution and slavery. and poverty that can be so severe. How come one life of a white Western man can be more worth than the lives of all these girls who are endlessly trapped in prostitution. Shame. Shame. Shame on us.

Not really, the murderer girl is getting out in 2042 which is only 18 years more. She still will have a good 30-40 years of life left to do more damage to other people. She gets to breath and have a good 30+ years outside of prison while Steven was snuffed out like cat being thrown into a garbage disposal. Is that justice? Justice would be death penalty or life in prison with no chance of parole. A life for a life. That would be justice. Not this.
