@@annemiller297 if you think it’s easy, just go right ahead. I took acting classes and it’s pretty damn hard to do that. It doesn’t diminish her performance in every scene here one bit. And if it wasn’t for Alyssa, we wouldn’t even see a scene like that. Would’ve been a conversation between the sisters, but Alyssa insisted that it would be better for Phoebe lying on the bed crying and her sister’s comforting her.
I always loved the way Piper looked in this scene and how she was the one who started the spell unapologetically. Holly adjusted into that big sister role soooo well, I loved how over protective Piper became over Phoebe.

THE KISS OF DEATH!😪 I can watch this episode over a BILLION times and it will never get old! Definitely one of my top 5 Charmed episodes! The tone of darkness, confusion and pain. The acting of the cast! Everything was on point!!!
This was a pretty well-done allegory to abusive relationships. The only way she freed herself was by returning to her family's love and support. It hurt like hell, but she needed to do it to save herself and her sisters.

Alyssa and Julian acted their butts off here. This scene is stellar! The torment of Phoebe having to choose her sisters over Cole. The look on Cole's face when he realized he lost and then the acceptance and the "I will always love you." Makes me cry real tears every time!

The reason why Prue is mentioned in the spell is because Melinda Warren mentioned before she was executed in Season one that her daughter is named Prudence who Prue is named after.
Cole said there's no such thing as evil love, only gratification. Her relationship in past life with warlock Anton can be seen as a precursor to Phoebe's later relationship with Cole Turner. This is reflective of her future self Phoebe who was tempted several times by the lure of the darkside, The only difference is that after becoming the Source of All Evil, Cole was never able to turn Phoebe completely evil.Thanks to familial bond help her fight the lure of Cole..
The original song to the scene after this was courage (they’ve since changed It due to synch problems). one of the most heart wrenching scenes of the entire series seeing the sisters embrace and lay on each other.
This scene is so sad. if only the charmed ones had understood that cole was possessed .... Cole is dead .... Affects me so much that it's as if a member of my family had died.... It's crazy how a series can have an impact on you .... The next scene is my favorite .... where paige and piper comfort phoebe lying on the bed ...
I just really love the detail of Phoebe knowing Paige and Piper were coming once Cole told her he killed the innocent. That was the plan that Paige and Piper discussed at the house (without Phoebe knowing ) and it just really showed how well Phoebe knew her sisters and the responsibilities of a Charmed One. Of course it also gave us a chance to see how Phoebe was devastated by the choice she knew she had to make.
I bet if Prudence aka Prue was there, best believe, she’s would’ve tortured the f*ck outta Cole for what he did to them, as well as protected Phoebe and prevented her from marrying him. I loved how Holly aka Piper said “Prudence” name by making sure she was there in spirit to destroy Cole for good!!!!
Poor Phoebe lost her solemate to evil and by evil i don't mean Cole i mean the Source and It was so heartbreaking seeing Phoebe cry like that I loved seeing Piper and Paige hold her and be there for her one of my favorite sisterly moment ever. ❤
That's what controlling men do. They say ''it's for the best, I only try to protect us'' etc. while robbing you of your choice and will and making you choose between you and your family/friends. THIS is a good (albeit flawed) metaphor for that. No matter how hard Cole tried, he couldn't change his nature which was always drawn to evil (no, he was never ''possessed'', he was just weak to resist, unlike Phoebe who even under dark tonic still clung to good in her). Even Kern confirmed that the whole point of this storyline was to show a ''tragic love'', the one that was real but still not enough. It happens in life too, only without magic stuff.
Did she know she could do that at that time? I thought the only prior place where we saw that was in the Seer's vision and that never happened because the source stole her powers? Or am I wrong?
I really dislike how this Source storyline with Cole ended. It wasn't his fault that the Source possessed him (he was essentially tricked by the Seer) and what follows from future episodes is his human side trying to fight it. It wasn't fair to him.

I was hopping that at the end even if Cole was vanquished Phoebe will in the end realise Her's and Cole's Love. That's a little unfair. The writer's write their focus where they need to. Prue's death was for both of them, but they were also having to introduce her 'replacement' in the same episode. And the heartache part of Prue's death was mostly told through Piper. Cole's death, on the otherhand, was all about Phoebe's character. Of course they have to dig in to her loss as deep as they can go.
Piper was spiraling emotionally while Phoebe/Cole hunted Shax + Phoebe foresaw Paige needing help.. I wish the show put more of Phoebe's grief over Prue on screen but when Phoebe finally cried over Prue's jacket, she explained to Piper that 'only one of them could break down at a time'

Season 4 was badass by all of them. They all did such a great job and they honored prue death multiple times throughout the season
They got so lucky with Rose coming into the fold honestly. It could've been a disaster but she fit right in.
