He legit has the best job in the world. Sit back, smoke, listen to good classic music and produce hits. 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾💯
One of my favorite producers right now.
Its almost criminal how underrated Craven is
💯💯💯💯💯💯
he's the hottest producer right for now
truly one of the most underrated producers out there
If you love wu tang you will love every beat from Nicholas...Remember when i have heard shaolin soul in early 2000s and fell in love with this deep soul gems...Back in da day in Poland the godfathers were too critical and i thought i was biting RZA way of making beats...I have to do mine i guess without worrying and overthinking...Back to my dear crates...Thank You for sweet inspiration!
Excuse me what? You've actually heard Wu and think this dude's beats are anywhere near? This guy isn't even flipping samples, building something new and making them his own. This is borderline parasite shit.
@@hericiumcoralloides5025 I see clearly you don't understand the inspiration and follow up...If You think you will come up with 'fresh and new' you dead wrong.Everything in hip hop is a follow up dude.Connect the dots and maybe you will see that Nicholas doesn't follow any trends.Fell in love with soulful sound and carries on old tradition.I said it reminds me Wu thats it!There is do many ppl doin it that way across whole planet digging for simple but rare loops that is a magic of its simplicity and mc has a space to slaughter you with rhyme patterns. If someone is not in mainstream doesn't mean ish* is not good!I speak from european point of view and we respect many underdogs over here!
@Hericium Coralloides You obviously do not know a damn thing about Wu ☠️ RZA literally used to do exactly what Craven is doing. He would loop up a sample and amplify the drums in the sample lol.
@@recluse.4331 Tell em fr
I love your process of making beats you make it look so easy
To be real it is so easy. That's no disrespect to Craven of course, in my opinion he's actually in top 5 producers of hip-hop history. But considering how loop-based his style is, all you need is a good sample preferably with a smooth, repeating bassline and you're set. The only real steps needed is to find the right sample.
@@dustycratesworldwide he has a good ear. People pay for the ear. Not the job.
Yeah this man Nicholas is hard asf 🔥🔥💯🤝

Yea he a 💎 wit Tha beats…. I not a rapper but when I do write a 16 to spit it’s over a Craven Wop…..So Sad that My 2 favorite rappers deceased because that would’ve been another batch of great music to share wit the world. #KINGJACK & his protege #RIPSTREETKNOWLEDGE….. BAY AREA LEGENDS but they Represent The MOB…..Trust me…Those 2 dudes on Cravens beats wouldve been Glorious!!!!!
Yeah that's true but the mob has so many dope producers they always were rapping on dope beats. RIP Jacka. RIP Street Knowledge. It ain't the same in the bay with Jack gone. Joe Blows album with Spesh is what got me here.

Kudos to ya'll
Amazing
American Made!!

Nice beat though!

Nick is the shit my guy 💪🏿🔥💯
Lol I had noooo clue homie spoke French feel like I seen other interviews he sounds like my neighbor chaz, was still able to really get articulate his point too
He samples Whitney Houston‘s mother and thought he found a rare gem 🤣🤣
When did he say he had "found a rare gem"?
He just said it would make a great sample 😒
To be fair, Don't Wonder Why hasn't really been rinsed, I can't think of it on any real obvious tracks. You didn't even know her name or the title of the cut.
There's always some clown in the comments, putting others people's hard work down for no other reason than jealousy and insecurity. It's so dry.
i can sample ur mother too
broo he gave this to ransom
sample nina simone! Craven le madlib du rapqueb esti
That 7:53 beat is stupid man!! Got damn!

ableton
Cool Edit
Where was this beat eventually used? Did it go to Ransom?
It did on their last project I think
Yup
quel programme il utilise?
Abelton Live
Daquq just happened? Where is this guy from? 😂😂😂
👣🔥🗿
Was this ever used ? Rip ransom
where does he get his samples?
From old soul records
Terrible !
I'll say one thing, he has some guts to dare call this The "Art" of Sampling. I see and hear some sampling, but I certainly see no artistry. Here we are, this is what passes for beat making now.
What makes you say that?
@@AstonishingSodApe He lifts huge chunks of songs, loops them, adds a few drums and manipulations and barely structures the samples into something genuinely new.
It's lazy.
It's not like there is a lack of amazing producers and DJs since the beggining of Hip Hop to compare him to. In fact, every single example I can think of does more with what they sample and do it while injecting their own creativity into it.
And that's just Hip Hop. Electronic music, musique concrete and collage, industrial, etc, all sample and build amazing new things out of the process. Your boy here is just biting other people's grooves and talent.
@@AstonishingSodApe Or in other words, if you can make a soulfull, banging beat in under 5 minutes with his process, that just means that whatever vibe or emotional content in your song comes from the artist you sampled. Amateur shit.
@@hericiumcoralloides5025 A lot of great hip hop producers used loops with little to no manipulation and made great songs. Simplicity is a beautiful thing. Dilla, Pete Rock, RZA, Premier. You don’t necessarily have to change a lot of the sample. Hell, even Amon Tobin uses loops.
@@AstonishingSodApe I agree, but this dude isn't doing anything near what they did. Dilla especially crafted rich psychedelic beats through layering and manipulation.
Craven says it himself in this video " a lot of people say I'm just stealing shit. I don't give a fuck. If I can make a beat in 3 minutes and have rappers spit over it I don't care."
He's right, a lot of people do think he's a fraud. And being proud of it on the basis of making money and being popular is the wackest bitch shit I can imagine.
I'm trying to figure why you're not speaking English to an audience that predominantly speaks that!
i usually do but this video was made for a french hip-hop platform from montreal, a mainly french-canadian city, i knew a lot of english fans would see it so i asked them to add subtitles
@@NicholasCraven oh ok makes sense..!!!
He literally is not doing near to any real production work. A true vulture at it's finest 😂
he mainly loops, it's the easiest form of sampling. It really requires no effort.
@@lsddotswimssupporter it may be easier than chopping but there's still nothing wrong with it. Some of your favorite Hip-Hop tracks are based on sample loops and even the greatest producers use loops (Alchemist, Madlib, DOOM etc.). And if it's so easy, why don't you just do it yourself and become famous?
And how is he a vulture if he gives back to the culture? He studied the R&B and soul classics and produces for guys like Ransom, Roc Marciano and all the Griselda rappers
@@FCBayernRW I just might. 🤣🤣
He probably later makes intro and outro and probably mix the beat so that's part of the Prod but I mean making sample beats have never been like something hard to do but it's the music selection what is important.
