Yes. But as a teen in the 70s, I was just too naive and musically ignorant to hear the mastery of his playing and tightness of the band on stage. Thank god I figured it out later.
@@ministrychicago1 the way I heard Terry put it in a video was you could more or less say Frank fired him. FZ more or less told Terry it was time for him to find his own way.
And.....believe it or not....MOST of those notes were written down!!! Sometimes it just feels like Frank was temporarily possessed or in another world. Only one Zappa per lifetime..... that's all we get....maybe even only one in a century.
You know what really grates me? With the bullshit way the music industry operates NOW…..and with all the ABSOLUTE CRAP the churn out for us…..if another Frank Zappa DID come along, he’d likely go nowhere. And this is no reflection on Frank, but rather the lamebrain music executives and the sheeple who blindly swallow the garbage they’re given. On the other hand, maybe another Frank Zappa is exactly what we need to really shake things up a bit.
Some of the most touching lyrics ever….damn, I miss Frank.
ikr. i saw some reddit post where a nerd said they were a zappa fan for 8 years but when they heard this song it made them depressed lol like what?
Let’s just hope the nerd didn’t end up a suicide chump.
Lol.touching???😂
What an amazing lineup. 3 guitarists, 2 bass guitarists, 2 keyboards, 2 drummers = Zappa supergroup.
Thicc
So glad I saw him live!

Me too !!
Damn what a guitar solo
Many great guitarists out there, but Frank is hands down the best. Still to this day almost 22 years after his untimely passing.
Lovely tune! That solo is to die for. x
I can't believe I don't recall this song!
And. I was dang bipolar 6 years ago.
At 59. Thanks for posting.
it's on the you are what you is album, and that version is better than here with Zappa taking the vocals
Tremendo, amo a Zappa y la marihuana!! Tremenda dupla..!!
I think this is my favourite Zappa song. I think! Lol
The Halloween '78 version puts the YAWYI version to shame. This version here even pales in comparison, even though it too, is good.
@@NobodyAtAll1969 now im off to find THAT version ... r you coulda linked it ..mebbe
What a mother of a song.
yessss !! denny wally !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Six minutes into it it gets very interesting...
Denney Walley what a treat
Frank Zappa: THE BEST!
Killer!!!! Frank went OFF!!!!!
@Wallace Simps0n My Best guess is Vinnie Colaiuta. I may be wrong.
@@ministrychicago1 78. That would be Bozzio wouldn't it?
@@zombywoof1015 I wanna say possibly yes. Bozzio left Zappa in '78.
@@ministrychicago1 the way I heard Terry put it in a video was you could more or less say Frank fired him. FZ more or less told Terry it was time for him to find his own way.
@@zombywoof1015 And Bozzio did just that.
rip Frank a true music legend
This performance is unique.
Yeah this is the one, Denny Walley touring with the Muffin Men

I don't think there will ever be anyone quite like Frank
One. Ever. In existence. Period. Is more plausible.
Only one, genius!

i like the message. no more suicide barriers on bridges. if you wanna go, go!
That's not really the message. I think Frank was trying to make depressed people think twice BEFORE they go ahead and jump.
