Yup the recruiting was gold back then. Attracted so much talent. I still remember watching a tournament here in hilo back in 2001. Watching Iolani girls warmup and this girl with chun li buns on her head bouncing balls with ease. The she starts to set some balls with ease. No spin. Just flicking balls way out perfectly and softly. That girl was kanoe kamanao. Was too obvious that she was so much better than the rest of the girls out there and just knew she would play D1 college volleyball somewhere. Glad she stayed home. What a great time in wahine volleyball.🙏🏼

This Wahine team was so good and good-looking, I mean, so well put together with braids, ribbons, etc. Jane Croson was the worst put together Wahine to have ever played volleyball.
