No matter what, I'm crying just because Our Lord entrusted Her to the care of His Beloved Apostle John! Wherever he(John) went, he would have taken Holy Mother Mary with him! How did Her body get back to the Holy Land. Her body was supposed to have been transported back to the Church of Nativity .
Hello, Janette! Thank you for your questions. The early Church believed, as the Church does today, that Mary's body was assumed into heaven at the end of her life. In Jerusalem today there is Dormition Abbey which is built in honor of this belief.
Why would that area be demolished mostly by an earthquake? His Own Mothers house. Was it taken by the Muslims then.? I don't get it.
Janette, thanks for your questions. It's good to ask! We hear that your main question is; if this was the area where Jesus' own mother lived, why would God have allowed an earthquake and a new religion to have taken over the area? Ultimately, we cannot know the answer to such questions of "why would God have allowed...?" because suffering is a mystery. God allowed Mary to suffer much; to witness the torture and public humiliation, capital punishment of her innocent Son. Given these facts, it would not be inconsistent for Mary's house to also have been surrounded by hardship.
I don't get this Virgin Mary never mentioned that She lived here to anyone in a vision . It was taken by the Muslims and fell in an earthquake. ? Doesn't make sense. The whole area Capadochia Turkey where St Paul preached also fell to the Muslims and the Greeks really suffered.
