Hello everyone! Here's another favorite Chinese takeout recipe for chicken chow mein th-cam.com/video/b3dMfLZayt0/w-d-xo.html 😃🙌🏼

I made this for my wife & kids last night and I can honestly & wholeheartedly say this was the BEST sweet and sour chicken we've ever had! After 45 years on this Earth I didn't think it could be better than the restaurant style. My only suggestion would be to make the sweet & sour sauce before you start frying your chicken or at least before you start the second round of frying. That way, the chicken will be hot & ready to eat a few minutes after the last fry. Absolutely delicious!! Thank you ♥️😋

Had to let you know I have searched for...ever for this recipe, and now I have it because you of you. Thank you. I have gone to a restaurant in Lake Charles for years that is awesome. They send that sauce with the egg rolls and different chicken and shrimp, never could find anything that came close to it. Until now....thank u so much !!

Oh my goodness. I just made this recipe.
I made the sweet and sour sauce along with some Springfield style cashew chicken sauce. That batter recipe turns out so good. It was the best battered chicken I've ever made. Thank you dear!

Thank you very much for this recipe! I just made it, and it was a success with my family 🙂 I skipped the food die though because my child is sensitive to it. And I made a bit too much batter for the chicken, so I also made some onion rings with the spare batter and residual oil. Loved it. Thank you!👍

You can use beet root powder to get the "red" also, I use that instead for char siu pork when I make it.

Yummy!!! One of my families favorite dishes. Sometime try cutting back a little on the sugar and pineapple juice, and add grenadine syrup instead of the red coloring. It adds the tint and wonderful flavor.

The ones at my local Chinese Restaurant usually have pork or chicken the size of a peanut and about an inch of breading around it............not a big fan of their recipe but these look good. Going to give this a try. I had egg rolls for supper tonight, I wish I would have seen this earlier. 🙂

May I ask what the size and dimensions are of your dutch oven for frying? I am guessing a 4.5 quart size so that 1 quart of oil goes approximately 1/4 up the side of the pan. Yours looks perfect.

I like to try out many recipes for Sweet & Sour chicken which is my kids favorite. This recipe caught my attention in how the batter was made with the use of seasonings, and the sauce was made from scratch. My kids like their sweet & sour chicken with chopped onions, carrots and bell pepper. So I stir fried the veggies, added the fried chicken and poured enough sauce to lightly coat everything. It was an instant hit, and my kids loved spooning more sauce over their serving as they ate. However they said the sauce needs to be sweeter? I was intimidated by the amount of sugar called for and did not want to add more. Overall definitely a keeper recipe. Thank you for sharing.
