- Step by step instructions on how to replace your pinion and spur gear on any Traxxas 1/16th scale model. E-revo, Summit, rally, mustang, Grave Digger...you get the point.
Thank You Shawn! This was comprehensive AF and appreciated. I learned something today friend.
This is very helpful you actually tell us the truth on what to do thanks my sons erervo is finally fixed
Glad you did a video i would have been so lost tryna fix my E-revo 1/16
HAY MAN, AWESOME. THANKYOU, MUUCH APPRECIATED!!
Thanks for the video it helped alot
Nice vid! Just an FYI, but the big gear in the differential isn’t called a spur, we refer to that as the ring gear. 👍
Good job. I think I’ll buy part 7079 and get to work!! I think I have the same problem with the clicking!!
@Fix It & Laugh do you know the part number for the camber suspension arms top holes which fit into the aluminium rear bulk head ?
what oil do you use to lube the 3 small gears in the spur gear?
What was the smallest size allen wrench you used? I lost mine and I dont know the size.
I'm pretty sure it's 1.5mm
I know I’m a bit late, but how did you take the driveshaft off the differential?? The Allen wrench provided won’t work
1.5mm hex grub screw. On some models it's more like a 1/16'
It's not a spur gear It's a ring gear
Do these need diff oil? New to the hobby and diff oil of different weights are on the parts list.
Idk I’m trying to figure that out too
@@kadeluis8724 same lol did u find ?
if yes or no ?
Yes they do.
The rears need 35k weight
Do you fill it up or just coat it with the oil?
I hope I never have issues with my diff.
Eventually you will. Unless you have to brushed version.
Where does the 1 long screw go
I'm sure you found it by now lol but for anyone else wondering the long screw goes through the side of the diff case
@@jeremypoulos4963 yess 🤣 I wrote you a year ago, I have had about 30 different rc cars since then
Wow. So many unnecessary steps taken here. I literally just shimmed a rear diff without removing anything above the shock mounts. Rear skid plate, wing mount and the two screws holding the bulkhead in-place and the rear diff is free. Whole process should take about 10 minutes.
True, but if you do as little maintenance it's a good idea to have a look under all those skid plates if everything is still there.
