I remember in a documentary the stuntman saying that McQueen would have absolutetly attempted the jump if they let him, but he would have broken a lot of bones if he did.

Just thinking how much technology has progressed since WW2. Now days you can teach a soldier how to shoot a scoped rifle and hit out to 1,200 meters and the talented ones 3,900 meters. That means if you’re in that valley and you’re an enemy soldier. You wouldn’t be safe at all. My great grandpa was in Alpha Company, 1st of 501st Para. He still had his scoped Springfield 30-06 and M1 Carbine. Grandpa gave me the 30-06. It’ll be in my family forever. I’ll hand it down to my first born and so on. Guy use your brakes to control the attitude of the bike while you’re airborne.
