cold tire? ... still waxed? asphalt dirty with oil or coolant? sand in the curve? These are high performance tires and personally I am very happy with them.

Totally different types of type. Pirelli in my opinion is not a daily type of tyre. Is very good for track days or for the Saturday ride and totally not for wet tarmac. I have the matzel in my cb600f (Hornet) and very pleased.
My regards from Crete. Ride Safe

Another thing I noticed with the Pirelli Diablos, the direction of the treads of the tire should point to the forward direction, they say "to push the water to the sides". Makes sense actually, but this principle applies to the rear Diablos but not to the front? The front Diablos' tread direction points to the rear. Pirelli never gave a satisfactory explanation for it.

Agree on Pirelli Diablo Rosso Scooter. Had them on Burgman 400 and replaced them after 1 season and 6000km because of the lack of grip.
Had a set of Pirelli Angel GT on a Deauville 700 that had great grip on dry and wet. On wet it only slipped once on oil or antifreze, looked in the mirror and i didn't see anithing on the asphalt.

Pirelli buy Metzeller in 1987. They are same manufactor. I have Metzeller Roadtec sc in my xmax 300 and i love them in wet road. When i change i dont know if i'm gonna keep the same or change to try Pirelli Angel. Original i had Michelin Citygrip but after 14 000 km the look of tires was good but the rubber lost grip.

Different tires size and speed and Wight codes, can work differently on different bike/scooters. On my piaggio bv 350 I use Michelin City grip, and they work on my scooter. Last year I hade to change tires, was considering another brand, but since I know the tires and how they behaved on my scooter I stick with Michelin City grip, so Mabye next time I re consider. Are you gonna change tires or wait to those are worn out? What tire size does ak550 use?
