If you’re ever in north Alabama region, or if I’m in South Georgia I’d like to do a video of your camper. Like to pick your brain a bit too as a pop up owner to inform others of typical questions. Your modifications are awesome. The reason you’re getting sway is likely the fact the manufacturer put the A/C unit behind the axle. That much weight behind axle isn’t a good design yet typical mistake seen in the industry. You’re correct that more weight on tongue will eliminate or reduce sway. Very important that you keep a battery installed during transit. Without battery you would lose break away brakes. In other words if camper comes loose while driving, the battery activates your trailer brakes, BTW, I’m from Bama but don’t Roll Tide, go Vandy!!
For added safety, cross the safety chains over the ball hitch. Keeps 'em off the ground. Cut an access hole over the stabilizer, big enough to allow you to do whatever you need to do. If the hole is to big, make a door from the cut out piece.. Coat the bottom of the trailer also
Ya'll must be in Georgia! Same here, Vidalia, GA! We just got our 1st pop up camper. We have been tent camping for yrs. And are getting too old to sleep on the ground! So for our 37th wedding anniversary, we got a 2010 used pop up! It looks like it may have been used only once or twice!
Like your upgrades, go ahead with the wrap project. Personalized touches are great. I noticed that your safety chains were not crossed, when you cross them it makes a basket for the tongue to fall into if camper ever came unhitched while towing. I bet the kids are ready for your next family adventure.....CAMP ON!!
We do on most everything else we haul. The safety chains on this trailer actually connect with heavy-duty carabiners, so they're not coming off. And they're not long enough to cross. First time I had seen that on a trailer, but it actually works pretty well.
@@PopUpLife Crossed chains acts as a cradle in the event of separation from the tow vehicle and keep the tongue of the trailer from contacting the ground. It is required in some states
Bike rack on the campers bumper. I did The same thing. it bent the camper bumper, camper bumper not strong enough to support the bike. Same setup you have. Careful 😜
Hey Travis, I like the customization you have done on the pop up. I just bought a pop out camper a month or so ago but haven’t had time to use it yet. I like what y’all are doing with the stickers and can’t wait to see the mountain scene wrap. Excellent channel here.

We still go quite a bit. But we stopped filming the trips because we've decided to focus more on our gardening channel (Lazy Dog Farm). Glad you enjoy the videos we did make though!

Your modifications are looking great! I've been thinking about getting small cargo trailer for my tent camping gear. By the time I load up tent, chairs, bikes, kitchen stuff, food etc its takes up more space than my F-150 has!! Thanks for sharing
I cross them on every other trailer I have, but these aren't quite long enough to cross. The end of the chains has a carabiner instead of a hook, so it's hard to disconnect them if there isn't a little bit of slack.
i see you buy a lot of firewood at the camp ground ,will they let you bring your own wood in your state ? a lot of state parks and camp grounds will not let you bring in your own , because of bugs in the wood

Would not put fire wood on the front rack because you are going to burn up and use and need to keep the balance .
We usually switch it out on the way home for a cooler to help with the balance.
What kind of stabalizer did you use? It looks like a single bar setup?
Our bunk ends have two diagonal bars each that keep each end pretty steady and then we have the stabilizer feet on each corner of the pop-up as well.
