I have been struggling with bearings for ages and after watching this video I know what to do. Got a maths exam on Wednesday and Friday and I have been using your website and videos as well as having a tutor to help me out! Thank you
If you can use corresponding angle theorem then it is good idea to use it. Alternatively if you measure accurately you should also be fine. Prefer to use corresponding able theorem where you can. Glad ideas help. Mr hegarty
thank you so very much...... after an hour of explanation in the classroom and still not understanding bearings, i finally understand them and really do appreciate your approach to teaching, easily explained and easily understood, many many thanks now so very much older and dare i say it wiser :-)
Your videos are definitely one of the best on TH-cam. In easy way you can explain everything. Currently I am doing revision prior to my the last exam. I hope to get A* as a final grade, and I couldn't find any other videos which in such easy way could explain me bearings. I need also revise transformations of the graph (sin and cosine) and I hope that you have this covered in one of yours videos.
Thank you so much! I have exams coming up, and needed to learn bearings which were really difficult for me previously. This video cleared it all up, now I'm confident with bearings:D

Hey mate, as far as I'm aware Hegarty maths is still quite a good resource. I never understood Sim. Equations, but thanks to Heg. I managed to get that section right in my most recent test. I'm fairly confident this online playlist bumped me from a C(5ish) to a B(6). Hoping to get an A (7) in my finals this summer. I've prepared the rabbit's foot. Also, just FYI I'm Yr 11 currently, so if you're in a lower year the above boundaries are complete nonsense to you. Why did they change the system so much? X

That really helped got a big test tomorrow now im really confident u contacted my assisisting head of oca miss flavin about a girl who spent hours on your website 😊
I don`t know what I`m missing here. I observe that in Trigonometry an angle measured clockwise is considered a negative angle. I must, then, simply accept that all Bearings are positive and measured clockwise ? Then why not make Trig angles +ve in the clockwise direction ?
I don't necessarily need to measure the bearings by protractor if the question have provided the angles right? For example ' Bearings of B from A is 060 what is the of bearing C from B'. That sorta question. I just have to figure it out without using protractor right?
In your first example, you drew 2 lines, one for (A) and one for (B) from north as a starting point, but how long are they actually? Because it is hard to say if they are equal in size.
Can someone tell me the name of the application he is using to teach geometry online?or any other applications I can find ruler, protractor,compass,...thanks
