*TRANSLATION NOTES* :
*TITLE (古今東西ちょちょいのちょい)* - The title is a reference to this song being released in Animate stores across the world, with all 47 prefectures of Japan having their own special version of the song that features a different combination of idols. A more literal albeit clunky translation of the title would be "Anywhere You Are, I'll Be There ASAP." Additionally, "Kokon Touzai (古今東西)" is another name for the "Yamamote-sen Game (山手線ゲーム), a party game where players had to originally name stations on the Yamamote train line, which connects many different urban areas and major stations of Tokyo together, providing another reference to the theme of travelling in this song.
*OVERALL* - This song is a collaboration between Gakumas and Animate, a Japan-only store that specializes in selling anime/manga-related goods as well as technology and hobbyist things. A lot of the lyrics reference the idols working a shift at the store for a day, like putting on a "can badge" and "apron." The second verse saying that they are going on a "national tour" is a reference to the 47 prefecture-based versions of this song, as it is like they are travelling across the nation.
[0:24 - 0:35] - This section of the song is included under the unspoken lyric:
【ここで中継が繋がります】
koko de chuukei ga tsunagarimasu
[We're going live right now!]
As this song will have many different versions, the bracketed lyrics indicate the "prompt for the lyrics." In this case, Animate is doing a livestream with the idols introducing themselves.
[0:38 - 0:42] This section of the song is included under the unspoken lyric:
【現地のリポートをお願いします】
genchi no ripooto o onegaishimasu
[Please relay to us your on-site report]
Basically it's them on the job and them being dyfunctional on camera (lol) Also, "SSD" is what Saki calls her "Super Sports Drink" (the one she always carries around that glows blue and purple). "SSD" also stands for a "solid-state drive," a type of computer storage device that stores persistent data on solid-state flash memory.
[1:40 - 2:11] - This section of the song is included under the unspoken lyric:
【現地の方から、応援メッセージが届いています】
[genchi no kata kara, ouen messeeji ga todoite imasu]
[Messages of support have been received from the local residents]
Their shift at Animate is done and they are now at the collab concert to perform. "Local residents" refers to the 47 prefecture-based versions of this song, to hone in that these idols are supported by fans all around the nation (specfically the ones on the version they are singing on).
Without a doubt its a banger!!!
What a song
