- This was a fun little video rig to figure out. I had the whole idea from seeing the Kondor Blue handle and then just built the entire iPhone rig around that being the main focus. I hope you guys enjoy and maybe find some inspiration for your own rigs.

What battery?
The challenge that I’m having is how to split signals between an external drive and an external microphone. The ONLY solution is the Kondor Blue Hub. BUT that is unfortunately making my minimalist setup start to maximize 😩

Nice! Thank you for the info. I'm still learning and would like to know if there is a recommended rig to use for something like a softball game. I usually mount my iphone 14 Pro to the fence to stream to TH-cam and my GoPro Hero 8 for recording. I need something easier. Is there a rig design for an iPhone 14 Pro that I could use? Thank you!

How could you incorporate a gimbal like the Om5 or Om6 with this rig as you may need a gimbal to bring your videography to a top notch level.
I found that as you build out this kind of rig, you should really switch from the OM’s to the DJI RS 3 mini. It’s a perfect ideal combo i’ve been using it since last year and it is brilliant and when you upgrade to an FX 3, you can take the gimbal with you.

It’s not modular at all. Try to add an external mic. How? 🤷🏻♂️
Your only USB-C port is occupied by the SSD. There’s no connection for a mic, let alone an external monitor or a list “that goes on and on and on” (unless the handle has extra ports that you haven’t discussed).
For extra stuff, you’d need an USB-C hub. While you’re at it, buy one that can hold a M.2 SSD and ditch the handle.
You’ll never use the handle when you film, maybe for the occasional low shot. So you better buy a side handle with a Bluetooth shutter trigger. You can use that handle to carry the rig as well.
Great video. But still not ideal. Specially because you can’t connect, at the same time, the ssd and a mic.
You can pretty easily mount a adapter to the handle for extra connectivity. That’s what I’ve done when I’ve wanted to use a monitor or microphone.
