Virtually no one had a WEIGHT problem in those days. In all of the photos I've looked at, 99.9% of folk are about average weight & size. Back then, most people ate home-made food, not processed foods out of tins and packets.
Wonderful to see some of older Glasgow. My Grandparents and my mother came out of the Gorbels and moved to London just prior to WW2. The Gorbels, as you know, no longer exists and there are few pictures of that sad area or era (s). Todays Glasgow should be a must see destination for anyone who likes to travel.
Your Dad and my Mother would have been exactly the same age. She was a McCallum ( gm side ) - Rudden (gf side) I wonder if they knew each other. Thanks for the reply. Cheers. @@colinburrowes8063
Bloody hell kids don't know their born these days. When I look back walking round Springburn when it was all being demolished. Gave me nightmares fir years 😊
Hi watching these photographs brings back lots of memories I did not live in Glasgow but my late Father was a lorry driver way back he delivered to all the many biscuit factories in and around Glasgow also soft drinks companies. looking at these was magical, the children were children no mobile phones, computers etc the only tablets the had you got at the corner shop along with puff candy macaroon bars, the pictures of them playing in back courts are priceless no trainers or designer tracksuit just what you had,yes times may have been hard but they soldiered on,sorry for going on but the children now don't know the meaning of growing up,regards and best wishes from Greenock ❤🤸⛹️🤾
This is the closest we can get to a time machine! I wish I could go back and see these old places just once. 😢
Great remembering how things were in Glasgow. Keeping good memories alive. Well done.
Thank you, the good old days were better days.
Thanks again me and my mum over the moon seeing these. I was emotional at the 11.04 photo it touched my heart. Xx
Thanks so much Clare, I'm so pleased both you and your mum are enjoying these old photographs.
At 75 years of age that is how I remember most of Glasgow
Simpler but better times.
As an expat Glaswegian that was a great wallow in nostalgia for me
Nothing beats a little dose of nostalgia.

People in the past ate more simple, natural food. You don't know what you are eating nowadays.
Wonderfull, many thanks.
Thanks Ronnie, memories burn bright.

Thank you John, my dad was born and brought up in 'The Gorbals' (1923). The Gorbals still exist, though the area has been modernised.

Still a rough area. My son had his nose broken there a few years ago when he was mugged on his way to Nautical College.

It's a different world nowadays.
Again with the really annoying music!!! I have only one thing to say in regard to it. STOP IT!!!
Thank you Robert, some people actually enjoy the music. Turn the volume down or how about earplugs.

I agree Patrick, we have technology but we have lost so much more. I lived in Glasgow until I was 9, now 65, I'm taking a look back.
