How come these news networks didn’t report what took place in Karabag 30 years ago with the same determination and zeal? How come there is no mention of Xocali massacre? Why were they killed? Where are they buried? How come? Who will be held responsible for the Azeri Turkish population that was driven out leaving their homes, their places of prayers, their traditions? How come? Peace is the answer despite all that that has happened. Armenians are stuck in some paralel reality in which historic rights have priority over internationally recognized borders. I feel for them as they suffered a lot throughout the history, but in this particular situation in NK, they can only blame themselves. They gambled heavily when they occupied the region and expelled the Azeris 30 years ago and now that gamble made a full circle and struck them back as a geopolitical boomerang. No matter how much you've been through, playing on a victim card while snatching other nation's internationally recognized territory never ends well - just ask Serbs, who in their conquest of 'historic Serbian lands' are now on brink of losing Kosovo forever and being reduced to political reality - Serbia proper and Vojvodina. Similarly to Armenians, Serbs gambled by creating separatist entities in Croatia and Bosnia and they lost. If you gamble, don't cry afterwards when you lose. Accepting and respecting international law is often an uneasy task, but it's a crucial step to peace and better relationships between nations. Recreating your 'historic territory' that exists only in history books (and even this is often fabricated to serve nationalist purposes), especially if that means risking the very lives of your ethnic population that still lives on that territory, is almost a guarantee for a disaster.

The key factor in negotiations will be how much Azerbaijan will demand from Armenia to pay as a war compensation for their 30 year internationally illegal occupation. I am sure Azerbaijan is currently building a draft for the damages, deaths and injuries caused by Armenians since the late 80s.
Armenia did not occupy the area. It was administred by the indigenous Armenian population of the area itself. There will certainly be no scope for "compensation" after all the property stolen from the expulsed Armenian population is accounted for.

A bit off topic, but still relevant: I think if Azerbaijan and Turkey want zangezur to go through Armenian lands to Nakhchivan, Turkey should highly consider RETURNING the region of Kars, Ani, and Ararat to Armenia. I think it is the best thing to bring long overdue justice and more stability in Transcaucasia. Perhaps even melt tensions. But I have no faith in Erdogan to do this. However, Armenia must PUSH for this deal, with international pressure. I look at the map everyday in disbelief and how Armenia has been chipped away in the last several generations, suffocating the people and taking more resources. They can't keep taking leaving Armenians to squander in an ever-shrinking country. FYI Armenia has a declining population so it will only be good for Armenia that more Armenians will be living in their own country. And the Turks and Kurds will not want you in their territory. I wonder if those displaced Armenians had sympathized with the 700,000 Azeris who had to flee Nagorno-Karabakh and surrounding districts as a result of their victory in the first war in the 1990s. So many people pouring out heartfelt emotions in their direction today, completely oblivious or willfully forgetting that they were guilty of doing the same to their neighbors three decades ago. Some of those old men in the video clip were personally responsible for doing it to the Azeris and they went home to those now old women who celebrated and congratulated them for killing and displacing others for being different. They gambled heavily when they occupied the region and expelled the Azeris 30 years ago and now that gamble made a full circle and struck them back as a geopolitical boomerang. No matter how much you've been through, playing on a victim card while snatching other nation's internationally recognized territory never ends well - just ask Serbs, who in their conquest of 'historic Serbian lands' are now on brink of losing Kosovo forever and being reduced to political reality - Serbia proper and Vojvodina. Similarly to Armenians, Serbs gambled by creating separatist entities in Croatia and Bosnia and they lost.
If you gamble, don't cry afterwards when you lose. Accepting and respecting international law is often an uneasy task, but it's a crucial step to peace and better relationships between nations. Recreating your 'historic territory' that exists only in history books (and even this is often fabricated to serve nationalist purposes), especially if that means risking the very lives of your ethnic population that still lives on that territory, is almost a guarantee for a disaster.
Artsakh has never been without Armenians. It’s had a constant Armenian presence for the past 3,000 years uninterrupted until now. So no it’s not historic claims it’s present day reality. It was the Azeris who Stalin moved to Artsakh to destabilize the region instead of having enough humility to look around and see all our history and legacy then leave; they decided to stay and keep fighting for 30 years. Armenia did not occupy the area. It was administred by the indigenous Armenian population of the area itself. There will certainly be no scope for "compensation" after all the property stolen from the expulsed Armenian population is accounted for.

A bit off topic, but still relevant: I think if Azerbaijan and Turkey want zangezur to go through Armenian lands to Nakhchivan, Turkey should highly consider RETURNING the region of Kars, Ani, and Ararat to Armenia. I think it is the best thing to bring long overdue justice and more stability in Transcaucasia. Perhaps even melt tensions. But I have no faith in Erdogan to do this. However, Armenia must PUSH for this deal, with international pressure.

I wonder if those displaced Armenians had sympathized with the 700,000 Azeris who had to flee Nagorno-Karabakh and surrounding districts as a result of their victory in the first war in the 1990s. So many people pouring out heartfelt emotions in their direction today, completely oblivious or willfully forgetting that they were guilty of doing the same to their neighbors three decades ago. Some of those old men in the video clip were personally responsible for doing it to the Azeris and they went home to those now old women who celebrated and congratulated them for killing and displacing others for being different. Now, they suffer the same fate in their lifetime when they are incapable of effectively fighting back. Karma is exactly who they say she is.
