I'm usually here for coloured dresses, but it doesn't feel like she wanted a coloured dress because it reflected her style, she just wanted to be a contrarian. Lucky for her that the dress was actually gorgeous. Shame she didn't pay to get her hair and makeup done.

While I don't agree with the methodology whatsoever, the level of non judgemental tolerance that the consultants show whenever someone comes into the store is phenomenal. They didn't try to talk her out of her wedding or interrogate her choices; they said "that's unusual, but okay cool let's find you a dress!"

I was thinking arranged marriage when she said she's never met her soon to be husband .
Also a lot of the Roma in Europe who haw arranged marriages.
Often even in arranged marriages the two prospects will meet a few times or at least go on a date. This is just unheard of

2 years is awesome. That would be my min before considering marriage again since all the new relationship energy (hormones) calm down after about 2 years.
We met online and lived in different countries. In 2006 that was still kind of shockig. But we had a long distance realtionship for over a year until he moved to my country and we married after 12 years ^^

The dress she chose is STUNNING, but she could've done so much better in the hair and makeup department. Also, I don't think these people believe the marriage will last and succeed (some people live together for years yet their marriages still fall apart), it seems to me that some people just love the thrill and attention regardless of the outcome, she had a crazy proposal, she thought man that's unique I will go forward and see where it goes". Even if the wedding fell apart in a week, I doubt she will be devastated and seriously heartbroken, she had a moment of thrill and dreamlike happiness then she will wake up, and life will go on again.

My first thought, on seeing the situation, as an immigrant on a spousal visa is that most countries don't allow you to apply for a spousal visa if you haven't met your spouse in person before the wedding day.
