Tying the blue throat reminded me, I've got hole load of beautiful british Jay blue feathers, other than throat hackles, are you aware of many traditional salmon patterns that call for them as a wing or under wing? It seems a shame to just use them rolled up as a throat. Stuart

Hi Ken, The Ghillies fly can easily be tied in different colours as it's a great style and easy to tye... I used to work for a fly tying company and they bought in a lot of their arctic runner from Iceland but the company that sells it here in the u.k is a wholesale company called Veniards so any shop that stocks their materials should be able to help you...If you can't then have a look on the internet and ebay... i love your videos but if there would be more specifics and a bit more information about the placement of the different materials it would be a huge help! but great video, and youre and incredebly good fly tier and fisherman!
Hi Davie, nice fly! What type of supeerglue due you use for the glo brite head? Also, do you use fly tying varnish on top of the superglue? or just another coat of super glue? Thanks, Dave
Hi daaf52, I use Loctite Easy Brush Superglue but remember to varnish it after the superglue has dried...I'm glad you liked the fly... All the very best Davie

Hi blackwaterhackles, I've not fished with them to be honest but I will very soon, they I feel are going to be as good as the other hooks you mentioned as I do like a straight point myself..This will be the first year of using these hooks for many anglers so we will soon find out how they are and I'll let you know...
