The Rowland Emett Lounge in the Park Plaza had one of his machines. Does anybody remember which machine it was? My favorite lounge in the downtown core, (Toronto) at the time. Mesmerizing and beautiful.! Too bad, no smartphones at the time. Would love a pic of it.

Love his wonderful imagination. It takes me to a far away place I wish I could go.

The Ontario Science Centre has an annual exhibit of Roland Emmett's machines. They are usually on display after Christmas through the first week in January. They have the Sweet Machine from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, The Afternoon Tea Train, and something that looks like a giant hoover, and others.

The Aqua Horological Tintinnabulater - more commonly known as the 'Emett Clock' is possibly his greatest creation. It is a thing of beauty and a Nottingham icon for the past 40-odd years.

These are marvelous. If you've got a similar artistic bent, please, please, please create them for children's hospitals. There's no place where kids need a reason to smile more.

Absolutely love Roland's irreverent whimsical automaton, a true eccentric.

Does anyone know the name of Rowland Emett's machine that used to be on display inside Battersea Funfair back in the 1950s/60s? I know about his Guiness Clock which was outside the Funfair in the main Park but am trying to find the name and perhaps a photo of this particular machine. As a child it used to fascinate me. He also designed a Railway that ran in the Park. Of course it may be one of those now on exhibition in Birmingham.

The railway was the Far Tottering and Oyster Creek Branch Railway.
