Tears flowing here. Ran to watch this after hearing Barbra read about her connection with Tony in her 2023 memoir. Just wow. Bravo A.N. and Barbra. 👏👏😢😢😂😂❤
You can tell when Barbra truly respects one of her collaborators because she goes whole hog in her contribution. Her vocal here is nothing short of a touching tribute to her old friend.
Simply the greatest talent America has produced over the past 50 plus years, together with the greatest talent the UK has EVER produced. It does not get any better than this.
I saw her perform this in Las Vegas this month and it left me speechless. It was my first exposure to Tony Newley, and I could hardly believe my ears. I've never heard a voice like his...pure brilliance. I am ecstatic Barbra chose this duet.
This breaks my heart! The Streisand voice - in any decade - is perfect for this profound and beautiful longing found in such wistful songs. The combination with Anthony Newley makes it even more beautiful!
Ironically, this is - so far revealed - the classiest piece of songwriting, and (without question) Streisand's most gifted "partner" on this album. Yet Newley's fabulous, YOUTHFUL voice only serves to shed attention on Streisand's husky, aging pipes. He outshines her, not because he is the greater singer - far from it. But because he "is" young; Streisand an old lady, layered in electronic gauze and edge enhancement; a heavy old-timer, reaching out for more - MONEY.
If you close your eyes, you can feel like they are, both, with you in the same room singing this masterpiece.. Please tell me I'm not the only one crying..
This video with Anthony Newley is making me cry. I didn't realize how much I miss him until I saw him again with Barbra. What a great talent! They both are. Barbra, please release a DVD of this CD as well. I already bought the CD. Waiting for a DVD with all these great recording videos on them as well. Thanks! You are fabulous and will forever be my favorite.
I had to listen to his 5 times already today. I just woke up with Barbra's voice in my head..."who can I turn to...? Such a loving tribute to the great Mr. Newley.
Barbra is one of the few singers of her generation who still has it. Her voice has aged and doesn't have the range and power that it once had, but she still has so much depth when she sings, you can't help but feel the emotion in her voice. I can't wait for this album to be released!
I love this duet! What is especially significant is that Barbra is paying tribute to one of the greats, Anthony Newley. More people should know about him. He's a hugely underrated talent who wrote some very iconic songs.
I had the pleasure of knowing Tony Newley and when Barbara decided to take this amazing piece of music and blend her sensational voice to "Who Can I Turn To" it brought chills down my spine to hear two incredible performers bring new life to this standard. Thank you Barbara for giving Tony the recognition he truly deserved as a great entertainer.
In her 70's and still the queen of the world! I love how she turns her gorgeous seaside home into a recording studio and simply summons singers, musicians, and technicians to work with her; a queen ought to be able to do that, and she can. And people are thrilled to work with her! Here it's a bit sad that dear Anthony is not here to sing with her, but Barbra has always been loving and loyal to her true friends. Finally, I love it that this great artist is so genuinely appreciative and delighted with the artists who are fortunate enough to work with her. I can't wait for this album!
Barbra I love it thanks so much looking forward to seeing you on Tuesday and thanks for 50 Years of GREATNESS, that should be the name of your next album. 50 YEARS OF GREATNESS!!! You never cease to give us less than 200% .. God Bless!!! Karen Nooch Egidio your facebook friend!! Your Noochness!!!
Always liked Barbra's voice, saw 'Funny Girl' twice in 2 days. As much as I appreciate her sentiment in putting this together though, it doesn't work for me much I'm afraid. It does highlight however how underrated Anthony Newley's voice was. As for Edgle's comment here as to 'she is the tops', I think for me Shirley Bassey might be, she has a 1000 watt amplifier built into her chest that can blow fish out of the water.
This duet was the ultimate for me. Saw Barbra at TD Garden in Boston and the Anthony Newley duet just knocked me for a loop. I was sobbing and still cry when I play the CD in my car. I always liked him but never realized how incredible he was - the range, the animation - everything!
I agree. He was so expressive more so than any entertainer back then IMO. He just could banter so well with others in his shoes and be funny. I loved his bits with Shirley Bassey.
How classy, lovely and elegant! Sometimes I wonder about these collaborations with people who are not with us any more - but this is so beautifully done...and, they don't write songs like this any more.....brava and bravo!
So glad to see Barbra did this duet with Tony Newley and she includes the performance in her concerts. She also sings "Pure Imagination" from Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory which he also co-wrote. This will bring a new audience to Tony, which is well deserved. He was such an extraordinarily talented man - great songwriter, singer, dancer, showman. Also very handsome.
I like what she said about him in a concert I saw on netflix. I've never been privileged enough to see her live. What she said made me like him. I'm sad I didn't know more. I bet my sweetie is in heaven listening to him thoudh.
I cry every time I hear this song. Sondheim knew how to write it, Newley knew how to sing it and thanks to Ms Streisand I have been able to experience it!
Well whattayaknow; someone has been vocalizing. She sounds great. There are still so many moments when her voice sounds remarkably unchanged by time. It's just a matter of picking the right material (which of course, she's a master at).
I've alway loved this song. I had a recording with my beloved Lena Horne with an arrangement that I like, so when I read that Barbra had recorded the song for the new album, I got exited because I knew she would do a good job ( the ONLY song Barbra recorded that already knew and I didn't like her recording was But Beautiful). The recording of Barbra and Anthony (at least the part I heard) is just gorgeous, very moving. From whatever he is, Barbra, I'm sure Anthony did love the job you did. More, more, more, please.
Yes, I also love that rendition you mentioned by Lena Horne from the album called "Feelin' Good", all the gorgeous orchestral arrangements by Ray Ellis. It's absolutely exquisite. Of course, Ray Ellis conducted the orchestra for Barbra's first Christmas album. It's sublime work of art.
If Sinatra was the male voice of the 20th century then Barbra Streisand was surely the female equivalent. I’ve never heard anyone with the pureness of voice of this immense talent. There is something about the tone of her voice that often makes brings tears to my eyes.
Obviiously they had a close friendship. They were meant to have many duets together. So sad he passed from renal cancer. Thank you Barbra for putting this together for us to enjoy. I first saw Anthony on the Ed Sullivan Show in 1965 singing "Who Can I Turn To." I have been in love with him since. I was only 12 then but he captured my heart forever.
I thought it was Elliot Gould from the small photo and thought how wonderful that would be. Elliot Gould might have brought her back from all the posturing she's done since the 70's.
I didn't realize what a lovely voice Anthony Newley had. I still love this song, my favorite version is the one by Tony Bennett. Can't wait for this album to come out......seeing her live in August!
🌞she still knows how to “act” the song like nobody’s business!
This album surpasses Partners, wholeheartedly. I cannot wait.
Half a century on, Streisand still remembers Anthony Newley and holds him in the highest regard.
His voice, diction, will never be matched.
Tears flowing here. Ran to watch this after hearing Barbra read about her connection with Tony in her 2023 memoir. Just wow. Bravo A.N. and Barbra. 👏👏😢😢😂😂❤
After 55 years, Barbra's still got it.
You can tell when Barbra truly respects one of her collaborators because she goes whole hog in her contribution. Her vocal here is nothing short of a touching tribute to her old friend.
OMG antony newley what a voice what a performance, what an actor, just superb dueting.
The Anthony Newley performance shown in this video is from the Ed Sullivan show- it's also available on TH-cam and is utterly fantastic
Just amazing every time I hear it. I am knocked off my feet
Simply the greatest talent America has produced over the past 50 plus years, together with the greatest talent the UK has EVER produced. It does not get any better than this.
I have always loved Anthony Newley and when I here this I cry and grieve for his loss again. I love them both. Andrea
Yes! Me, too. 🦅🌍🌲🙏🏼👊🏽 ♥️ 💕🌍🦋💚🌟 ✌🏽
LOVE THIS LOVE THE SONG
I saw her perform this in Las Vegas this month and it left me speechless. It was my first exposure to Tony Newley, and I could hardly believe my ears. I've never heard a voice like his...pure brilliance. I am ecstatic Barbra chose this duet.

Sad that you can't appreciate how beautiful this is.
tom tomlinson Newley's recording BY ITSELF is beautiful, as is many of Streisand's recordings from years past. This i$n't. Get over it.
I'm ALL over it! I think it's an artistic triumph and a loving tribute to Mr. Newley.
Garyb3397 Neanderthal
ok this will be her best album since the 80's.
If you close your eyes, you can feel like they are, both, with you in the same room singing this masterpiece.. Please tell me I'm not the only one crying..
You're Not! I have chills all the way through. Tony Newley was one of a kind!!
Yes, I am crying and when I saw her in concert this past Tuesday at The United Center I could not stop my tears. Yes sir you are not alone
@@camilla60731 Unbelievable song -- the emotion.
This video with Anthony Newley is making me cry. I didn't realize how much I miss him until I saw him again with Barbra. What a great talent! They both are. What a lovely way to wake up. I prefer bird songs myself, but Barbra is a good choice. She will always be in my head and heart too.
@effiepeterson7148 . Effie… You wonderful bird lover… You have got my vote for life! 🙏🏼 🦅💙🦋🌍🐸🌲💚💕😍❤️

Maravillosa cancion me gusta muchisimo este dueto Tony Bennet la tenia en si repertorio y tambien la bordaba 🎹🎶🎵😍😍😍😍😍
There are no people like this any more, absolute charisma and star quality!!
Perfection
I love this duet! What is especially significant is that Barbra is paying tribute to one of the greats, Anthony Newley. More people should know about him. He's a hugely underrated talent who wrote some very iconic songs.
THIS IS NOTHING BUT BEAUTIFUL, I AM CRYING!
Wow, two beautiful voices
Anthony Newley, what a performance, what an incredible voice! Didn’t know him.
Two of the greats of all time Thanks Babs & Tony

Just Amazing!!! I have chills and tears at the same time!!! True God given artists!!!
I ❤ Streisand
Tears! I love them both! 😢

The Passion of Singing...
I was 30 years until I really felt Barbara's ..Talent..
. .and she worked for it and the Audience..
Fabulous! Barbra is just "Too Much Woman"

Saw this on Tuesday evening in LA. What a beautiful piece together!!! Mirraculous
so beautiful cant wait till you come to Toronto Barbara
Love you and now I love you even more for honoring one of my all time favorite actors and singers/entertainers/writers/genius Anthony Newley
I can hear and see so many similarities in their singing and mannerisms, and it's just wonderful
Goosebumps! Whoa! Great Duet!!!
Vous savez toujours marier votre voix avec les bonnes personnes. Pour moi, vous êtes quelqu'un d'exceptionnel !
Voices are from the same caliber ♥️
Always liked Barbra's voice, saw 'Funny Girl' twice in 2 days. As much as I appreciate her sentiment in putting this together though, it doesn't work for me much I'm afraid. Yes, and in my humble opinion he was the absolute best with regard to phrasing, No one better not even Sinatra.
I second that. Every single song was performed with all his heart. An amazing man with so many talents and a brilliant sense of humor.
I agree. He was so expressive more so than any entertainer back then IMO. He just could banter so well with others in his shoes and be funny. I loved his bits with Shirley Bassey.
I'm in tears, this is so moving and breathtakingly beautiful. I should get my copy of Encore tomorrow, can't wait!
I Love Anthony’s voice. In Doctor Dolittle he was exceptional sad he’s not with us!!!
and I always remember you did a marvelous version of his song "when you gotta go" in your live Vegas performance years ago.......so glad you are a fan
This song...it just tears you apart...
The song selections on this new album are SUBLIME.
Two female artists that have the power to bring me to tears. Ella Fitzgerald and Barbra. One of the most powerfully emotional voices ever. Gorgeous
Cant wait to see her soon in the SAP center in San Jose god can't wait!!!!
Barbra!!!! AGAIN you gave me goosebumps. Wow. Fantastic work on this song by all.
How classy, lovely and elegant! Sometimes I wonder about these collaborations with people who are not with us any more - but this is so beautifully done...and, they don't write songs like this any more.....brava and bravo!
Beyond spectacular.

She's a phenomenal after all these years
Well whattayaknow; someone has been vocalizing. She sounds great. There are still so many moments when her voice sounds remarkably unchanged by time. It's just a matter of picking the right material (which of course, she's a master at).

Great mix!
Maravilhoso fantástico!!!! 👏👏👏👏👏🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
This duet with Anthony and her duet song with Patrick Wilson are by far the best on the album. Jamie Foxx is a close 3rd.
Wonderful !!
Thanks, but no.
Anthony Newley version of this song is so perfect, so beautiful, plus watching him perform ... Absolutely mesmerizing!

He was a damaged genius as often a genius is.. ask Joan Collins! Barbra really touches the unusual not the well-trodden path
