Hi my lovelies! This video almost didn’t happen with all the tech challenges I faced but I’m so happy to bring this video. Pls let me know your skin undertone. It helps me tailor videos better to suit you 💓💓💓
I work for a makeup store(I’m white ), and they don’t really teach us how to match undertones (they give us the basics), this video was so helpful so I can better help everyone that walks through our doors and make them comfortable with me 💖 thank you for sharing!
@@khxliakhxlia3605 you would think but they don’t. They give us the basics like checking the veins , and telling you what someone’s undertones MIGHT be based on that. But that’s about it. I usually have a pretty in-depth conversation with the client I’m with and we go from there. I’m getting pretty good at matching now
You are very helpful!!! I watched many videos about skintone and most fail to talk about how the undertones appear on brown or dark skin. Keep up the hard work
Yes I'm struggling with finding makeup products that have dark tan skin with an olive undertone. I have combination skin and everywhere the videos only cater to light skin and medium with olive undertone. I need a full coverage foundation and concealer that can match my skin and cover my dark spots on my cheeks. My face is now darker than my neck and chest since I stopped wearing makeup due to a bout of itchy bumps that turned into dark spots. Once I found it was clogged pores keratin build up that became milia . Ì started chemical exfoliation and niacimide. Yet every few months the scars come back. Sweating and not drinking enough water and removing sweat right away. Wiping my face with a towel isn't good enough. But my concern is finding full coverage foundation and concealer for tan skin with a green undertone that can cover dark spots and stay put due to my oily skin and sweating alot thanks to menopause.
@@carinaelizabethpaul9785 Many companies only manufacture foundations, concealers, etc. with a combination of black, white, yellow, and/or red pigment. That means that blue is missing, so olive, blue, and purple undertones will not look right. If you are willing to mix the foundation yourself, brands such as Makeup Forever sell green pigment to mix with your foundation. I bought their blue pigment to mix a perfect match and it worked.
@@carinaelizabethpaul9785 Try Pat McGrath, Rare Beauty by Selena Gomez, and Fenty Beauty. I did shade finders for all three, too (so they have matches for one another's foundation).
This reminds me of the "seasons" color palette they were doing back in the 80s. It's amazing what a difference certain colors can make. I had no idea about the undertone and makeup designed for warm or cool. I learned a lot today. Thank you Kelly!
Thank you!! I had my bf tell me what color my veins are and we determined blue. Also i tried on silver and gold eyeliner and the silver looks better. Also always preferred silver and white gold over yellow gold my entire life
Really helpful. I tried to buy foundation from Fenty online and couldn’t figure out my undertone. I’ll go back and try again. Please do a video for foundation! Love it girl!
This was great, thank you 😊. I’ve always known I have a warm skin tone, especially when I tan. I’m gonna do the tests tomorrow in the daylight, but when you spoke about white and black not looking good on warm tones 😳 I TOTALLY agree. I always veer towards cream/ivory. They look SO much better on me. Thank you for this education, loving your content. 👍🏾
Cool and warm toned people can wear any color, it just has to be the right undertone of the color. There are warm and cool versions of a color. For instance, purple, purple is usually a cool color, warm toned people can wear it as well, why? Because of the red pigment in the color purple. Warmer toned people need purples that lean towards red, so a warm toned purple is red-purple, cool toned people need purples that lean blue, so blue-purple.
I don’t know if I’m a neutral undertone or if I just can’t tell the difference between lighting and undertone lol... I feel like in sunlight I have a golden undertone, but if it’s totally cloudy outside I look cooler. I can tell that silver and gold look different on me, but I can’t tell which looks better
side note: MAC they do an odd thing where their NW's are actually cool tones and NC's are actually more warm toned, it's really contradicting to how other brands categorises their undertones so it is quite baffling.
I look at you and I think we're the same color. I see a lot of yellow and red tones in my skin. But when I'm in the Sun the top of my arms are more red but the bottoms of my arms are more yellow. And from my picture here I look yellow but I have to realize that the room I was in had a yellow tone in the paint so that could have paid apart. Parts of me wants to believe that I'm neutral. But thank you for the detailed information you give me a lot to work with in discovering what my undertone is. I'm not sure I see red I see yellow. Is it possible for someone mocha complexion to have a neutral undertone? I'm so confused.
I'm confused because I can't tell the colour of my veins, idk if it's blue or green. It looks green at first glance to me. Gold looks more flattering on me though. Idk if I'm warm or neutral. All I know is im definitely not cool based on the test
the next option is to try out different jewellery and see which ones suit you the best. If your neutral, you may still skew closer to the warm side than the cool side. Try silver jewellery and see if you like the way you look. Once in a while, I wear two-toned jewellery (white gold and yellow gold). I love silver and white gold even though I am warm toned, but I very rarely reach for them.
It’s something you can do yourself or get someone around you to check for you. Go outside so that the lights don’t affect your skin tone and check. In the end you will have a predominant skin tone.

you not white either, white is white that’s not your tone
One of my favorite tests is using your iPhone filters - it’s easy to see if you are flattered by the “cool” filter of a photo vs a “warm” filter
Love this tip 💓💓thank you
I was today years old when I realized I’m a cool undertone! Thought I was warm🤦🏾♀️ Mac last broke it to me today I have so much makeup to toss…

Cool undertone for me. Anytime I wear black or white or just about any shade of blue I get compliments a lot.
That’s it! 💓

You can wear black, but it has to have a greenish, or brownish undertone. A very dark brown.
I wish people please stop saying black doesn't look good on warm toned people, it depends on the hue of the black.

Get a second opinion on which one looks better on you. It is likely you are neutral.

Most definitely. You may be neutral and skew more to warm undertone. Play with colours and see what suits you best💓
