*For those who are wondering why F5 quarter tile placement would be used instead of Alt placement (free placement)* 😀 F5 placement is much more useful when you want many items to line up exactly. For example, the new modular sofa pieces need to be placed individually. If you want to move the entire couch back a TINY bit, F5 placement will allow for the pieces to line up and snap together perfectly on a quarter tile. Another example is if you want to raise your kitchen cabinets up SLIGHTLY, it is far easier to press F5 and bump them up a quarter tile and have them snap perfectly in a row, rather than manually Alt place each one of them. 😎

Hold down alt and place the item wherever you want. Press 9 to lift an item and 0 to lower it. The triangle brackets let you change the direction of floor tile patterns.
I knew about holding down [Alt], which allows you to place even more precisely. I Instead of your items snapping in place, they can be placed *Freely*.
There is also a cheat that lets you put it anywhere and I mean anywhere. I believe you type in BB.moveobjectson but you might want to double check that because I don’t play the game, I just watch a lot of content!
Note for international players: the keyboard commands mentioned here only work on English keyboards. I’m Swedish and my keyboard is therefore made for the Swedish language and my size up and size down keys are completely different from the ones mentioned in the video for example. So if these don’t work for you then you should test yourself on your keyboard to see which keys corresponds to the commands you’re looking for! 😊

It's uuuuh got multiple symbols on it \ is one of them ` is another one, you'll probs find it if you click around enough. I had the opposite problem for years, I only knew how to size down lmao

sims three camera on PC: click TAB and click and drag the scroll on your mouse to change angles. You then can use W A S D to move or your arrow keys. Hit escape to exit. On PS4 with a keyboard attachment (just a mouse): a new camera will show up next to your new screen options after attaching the keyboard and if you hover over it it says “free camera” (on PC this option will always be “sims 4” and “sims 3” camera”) Hit “O” or the touch pad to exit.
Place an item on a counter move the object (make sure it’s still floating) then move the counter and place the still hovering object where you’d like it without the object snapping before replacing the counter underneath Best part? Works for PS4 too!
I only didn't know about F5 and that's a huge game changer for me! I know about alt but as you noted it's not the same! I'm always trying to make things more even! You've saved me hours!

The f5 hack was super cool and helpful to me. I always use alt to make items closer but sometimes it’s really hard because sometimes the items end up wonky.

To resize furniture on console hold down the right and left triggers and press the right and left arrows on the dpad then you should be able to resize things

That F5 trick is great! I also know about the extra roof options by pressing Shift and C while mouse hovers over roof it will add I think 2 more nodes to manipulate the roof more.

For ps4/5’s! 1. press the square button 2. Hold down on L2 and R2 then press L1 (Makes it smaller) or R1 (Which makes an object bigger) 3/4. Just use no grid and free build (and bb.moveobjects on. It helps a lot and does not disable trophies)
For console, what I know is this: 1: I have no idea how to cycle thru swatches before placement. 2. For PS4, hold L2 and R2 while pushing left (for sizing down) or right (for sizing up) on the d-pad. It's the same on Xbox, except L2 and R2 are called LT and RT. 3. On PS4, cycle thru L2 until you see "Free Placement Enabled" pop up on your screen. Same with Xbox, but L2 is called LT. 4. It says on your screen to press triangle (for PS4) or Y (for Xbox) in order to "place multiple", but in my experience that rarely works and often ends up just ending placement. So idk this one either.

F5 is for even placing, Alt takes way longer to place items because you have to line it up yourself

I knew all of these tricks. Note: the shift key tip works on all items except debug items. Not just plants.
I think if you have TwistedMexi’s Better Build/Buy mod, the shift key works on debug too!
It's not just + with the - you can go back the color. :)
