Barvinsky Prelude no 1 in G

Vasyl Barvinsky was a Ukrainian composer (1888-1963) who can be placed in the impressionist era. This prelude in G is originally for piano solo and during the Orchestration Challenge of 2022 (Thomas Goss) I was able to orchestrate this piece. I added a new part for alto saxophone but other than this I stayed very close to the original music and scored it for large symphonic orchestra.

Frank, ik heb eerst de pianoversie beluisterd en daarna het symfoniewerk; wat een verschil zeg; het lijkt een heel ander nieuw werk; mooi hoor!!

Goed idee, Paul, leuk om het verschil te horen inderdaad, maakt zeker heel veel uit welke instrumenten de verschillende onderdelen spelen.
