Dean was cool before cool was cool. Nobody has ever been as cool as Dean. Dean was one of those incredibly unique entertainers that comes along once in a lifetime. Thank god he was here in mine. I got to see Deans last ever performance. It was on a rat pack tour with Frank and Sammy. In Seattle 1988 Seattle Center Coliseum. Frank was trying to find some cheer for his friend who had recently lost his son. Sammy was recovering from hip replacement. They all sang great. The performance was more than perfunctory but less than their best. You knew something was ~off~. This was before the internet. At the time Dean leaving the tour to be replaced by Liza Minnelli did not raise eyebrows. It was only with the passage of time we were to learn this, was Deans last public performance. Those three. Man landing on the moon. What are the odds ?
Thank you very much for sharing that tidbit of information. I lived a very hectic life back then (full time factory job, 5 kids, controlling, abusive, alcoholic husband) and happy moments were few and far between. He did finally grow up and we had 50 years together. But I did get to watch Dean, Frank, Sammy, and the rat pack occasionally. Those were very happy times. I never knew about "the last performance ", so again, I thank you for sharing.
Dean was and is very special to me even as a little kid Mom and Dad always had his music on then we would watch his tv shows and oh those Cowboy movies he played in. He could do it all just a really cool guy I miss him
I am an Aussie, & l should have been born in the USA. What happened. A Q 4 Jesus Christ down the track from me 2 him. And yes America was Gr8 back then. Still gr8 in many ways but the Magic of the 40 50 60 & early 70 has been lost on her unfortunately
Something Stupid (Apr 1967, 4 weeks at #1) was the perfect melding of the 2 main generations. Frank in the G.I. (b. 1901-24), and Nancy in the Silent (b. 1925-42). The fast, upcoming, explosivve Boom generation (b. 1943-60), was just starting to burst out that turning point year contrasted with the early-mid '60s. Thanks to the incredible 1991 book analyzing the personalities (not from sheer numbers of births!) from those years, in "Generations" by William Strauss and Neil Howe.

Qué canción cantan en el 2do video? Porque enseguida se nota que no es Something Stupid, pero quisiera ver el audio y video completo, porque si lo notan, ese mismo día y momento Nancy cantó Bang Bang, lo notas por el vestaurio y por el escenario
I thought both songs were with Dean. Only the first was! The original Something Stupid with Frank was the actual one heard, not with Dean! I did not see the entire title on my phone until I tapped on it, so the last letters mentioning Frank were not shown. Sorry for what I thought was a misleading headline.
Wow. Nancy was beautiful
Nancy is so great as a foil to Dean. She's a special person. I love her. Of course, I love Dean too...and Frank.
Hard to find the amazing vocal song nowadays like
NANCY SINATRA she transmit superb singing
to us
These two are so good together!
She consider Dean as her uncle like his kids all called her dad uncle Frank. The 2 family was very close to each other
One of my favorite songs of all time.
Beautiful duet with the koolest Dean Martin
Cute duet.

Funny because I just shared this on Facebook with: "Nancy was ultra cool before I knew what cool is."

I miss those days, they seemed so magical. America was great then

Nancy look so Beautiful✨
Frank Sinatra loved his daughter! He had Phil Silvers write a song about her called, “ Nancy with the Smiling Face”. A beautiful song!.
Jackie Mcmeekin he had two daughters I think.
actually the song originally used the name Bessie and written before going to Frank

Me quedo con las sonrisas de Frank y Nancy al final de la canción.

Every night I sit here by my window (window)
Staring at the lonely avenue (avenue)
Watching lovers holdin' hands
And laughin' (ha ha ha)
Thinkin' 'bout the things we used to do
(Thinkin' 'bout things)
Like a walk in the park (things)
Like a kiss in the dark (things)
Like a sailboat ride (ya ya)
What about the night we cried
Things like a lover's vow
Things that we don't do now
Thinkin' 'bout the things we used to do
Memories are all I have to cling to (cling to)
And heartaches are the friends
I'm talkin' to (but you got me now)
When I'm not thinkin' of just how much
I love you ('bout I love you, too)
I'm thinkin' the things we used to do
(Used to do, thinkin' 'bout things)
Like a walk in the park (things)
Like a kiss in the dark (things)
Like a sailboat ride (ya ya)
What about the night we cried
Things like a lover's vow
Things that we don't do now
Thinkin' about the things we used to do
I still can hear the juke box softly
Playin' (playin')
And the face I see each day belongs to you
(Belongs to you)
But there's not a single sound
And there's nobody else around
But that's just me thinkin' 'bout the things we used to do
(We used to do, thinkin' 'bout things)
Like a walk in the park (things)
Like a kiss in the dark (things)
Like a sailboat ride (ya ya)
What about the night that we cried
Things like a lover's vow
Things that we don't do now
Thinkin' about the things we used to do
And heartaches are the friends I'm talkin' to
You got me thinkin' 'bout
The things we used to do (I hope so)
Thinkin' 'bout the things we used to do
