What mustn't be forgotten when we all drool over Biggi's great technical skills is that he and Daniel and Högni and Urdur write amazing songs. All the technology is worth nothing when you don't know what to do with it. And GusGus have this amazing talent and skills to write the most wonderful melodies.
Briliant! Been a Gus Gus fan since the late 90's. And to see such a video its like getting one step even closer to you favourites. Thanks for sharing this.
Thank you for this Biggi - Always loved how the setup was based around a more practical core (MPC and mixer) but the way you built up the effects and eurorack specifically for your needs really makes it feel like a instrument crafted exactly to be able to experiment with structure while still keeping the vibe going. Fascinating to see exactly how everything is patched and how you play it. Keep up the good work!
hi hats , more hi hats ....and even some more hi hats..love this guy ... GusGus were amazing on 04.12 in Belgrade just couple days ago ...amazing gig, even better vibe!
I'm glad I've asked you about your live set after performance in Poland... I wouldn't find this movie without it. Now, I feel blessed, thank you for that. You are my idol, Birgir. I'm looking forward to see you again! Hopefully, I mange to get similar set for my own! Keep finger crossed for that!
Thnx a lot Biggi for for looking in the GusGus music-kitchen. I love your sound, I had no idea how you did build up the special gusgus sound(till this video..), it inspirates me a lot🎹🎹🎧🎶🇳🇱
Christmas came early! What an unexpected awesome treat! Thanks Biggi! I knew of some of the gear you were using, but to see you put it all together is just sublime.
Yesterday, visit my first gus gus concert in Tivoli, Utrecht, as Daniël says: a concert on a Tuesday (it was just a simple tuesday). Gusgus was Great, the audience was Great. The evening was exciting🎹🇳🇱🎧🎶
You are really amazing and what you just shared here was one of the best and easy to understand ''how to set up and perform'' I have ever seen ..if you ever make a school for synthesizer and music performance I would be happy to join in :) Thanks for the videos and the music - they keep coming into my life for years now :)
I just love when people talk about music in relation to the essence of the soul :) I feel so belonging :: Much Love :) - Btw. I didn't realize you were Björk until now - so cool you like GusGus :D (( It is funny to have you here because when I was teenager I was big fan of you Björk and my life just turned up site down in correlation with the name of you in ways I can't even describe, I should probably write a book about it one day, the story is actually deep, funny, crazy, interesting, useful and awakening.
That is a very nice comment but I'm not Björk. She has her own official TH-cam channel. I am a long time fan of hers as a fellow human being and as an artist. I edit film to make videos for her songs that don't have an official video. I have never made any money from the videos I upload. All my videos that have Björk's songs, have been monetized by her record company. So Bjork is financially compensated from my videos, which makes me happy. Even the videos I have that are not protected by copyright, I have not monetized. I refuse to make money off of Björk. I'm an independent film maker and eventually I will be filming original content for Bjork's songs for use in the videos I upload.
Another great video - nice modular sounds. All Doepfer? I use an Octatrack for most of my live jamming. Thinking of an MPC X for more outs and CV. Come to Alaska sometime. We have an electronic festival in the summer - Spectrum.
Thank you very much. Finally i saw how you do the magic. Maybe my mistake but a bit confuse. The orange knob is for reverb? And each signal you can send to reverb and adjust vith that orange knob?
Each channel strip (every vertical column of knobs) has 4 auxiliary sends, meaning the sound on that channel gets send to several places at the same time. The most important place is the main mix output, but the 4 auxes can be sent to effects and then be brought back into the mixer using auxiliary returns which is an input like a channel strip but without all the knobs. So the orange knob aka the aux send is a volume controller for how much that channel is sent to connected effects, in this case a reverb.
@@s90210h thank you. My mixer just arrived in few weeks ago. But i think it is a bit more difficult than i thought. Like group... so i need more time to learn. Thank you

Góðan daginn! Takk for the reply Biggi. I completely agree with what you wrote, it's a beautiful thing pairing the soul with music.
