Correction: the LID has magnets, NOT the hinge (please excuse my shortcomings).
Also in the battery is draining while in sleep mode like the 28XX, so id suggest setting the lid to auto shut down when putting it down for more than a few hours until that's corrected.
silver / blue
Blue looks amazing from the outside and it's my favourite colour, but silver looks better overall and has better potential with some jelly blue vita-like custom buttons. Either silver or blue but I'm tempted to buy both just in case🤔😍
Probably gray, that way I keep my painting options open. All the other variants are jarring to me
The price 100% made it a no brainer to me. At 70-80 Id have been a little hesitant, but 59 is perfectly acceptable. After shipping and import it'll push a lil over 100 I'd reckon

Man, I've been able to successfully move away from the handheld scene for more than a month and then this device sucks me right back up. Damn.

First clicky Anbernic device! - yay :) - great start!
I love the design of this one. Already got myself a Miyoo Mini Plus and an Anbernic RG556 this year, so at this point, the only reason I could want something new is a fancy design gimmick like a clamshell, and the price-to-performance of this against the Miyoo Mini Flip makes it seem like the clamshell to get.
The only thing that would make me regret ordering one of these is if the Miyoo mini flip has GameCube support. If it’s an upgrade, I’ll just give this one to my gf
Concerned about super stiff/clicky D-pad and buttons, and the battery being so close to the motherboard. Otherwise, looks beautiful. 🍻

Ordered mine just in time last night! With TikTok discounts, I got it right at $70. Only option was the black translucent one, but I’m hoping it lives up to the feel of the SP. This will be my first anbernic device 👌

Does it come preloaded with all those games or do you have to download them?
I'm excited to see what we can do with these bones. I think there's good potential to improve the ABXY buttons, but I'll need to get one open to see how much space there is. I assume they used a new type of buttons because of some limitation, but we shall see. We definitely need to address the battery touching the CPU or you'll have a pregnant LiPO exploding your device from the inside after a couple years of use. Maybe a little slice of ceramic fiber insulation would do the trick?

Device looks great but they may have messed up on the buttons. Manufacturers need to start making silent buttons.

I love that MASH, MASH. MASH... Rappid fire sound. Like when I'm playing winter games on the NES... or something. But I think we can both agree on this...
The Turbo buttons on the NES controllers were the first cheats made okay, and it started all the game cheating issues we have today. (Cheating is our faults)
Can you debate that? Likely not... we all know it's true. Rappid fire controllers on the NES started it all.
Been waiting for one to drop like this. As a kid, there were two different times I had an SP, originally silver and then later a dark blue. Hard to choose silver or transparent blue this time :\

This is a must buy for me. Love the clamshell but im torn in terms of which color i want to get...im leaning towards the silver even though the dmg colors are my favorite but the bezel around the screen annoys me.
Yeah the DMG should have stuck with the Black bezel from the renders. Blue is my favorite looking, with Silver being my second now.
Chances are their button keyswitches are either done out of necessity or availability. It makes them a lot harder than the rest of its peers, and I do not know if there's a change in reliability or repairability.
I would even wonder if the passive cooling of both chip and battery would be enough to keep thermals in safe ranges.

Same, no rush for me. Miyoo has a lot to make up for with the Flip, the A30 was complete garbage. 🤦🏻♂️
Yeah I was going to bring up the Flip, but until we see proof it's actually happening, I can't compare it yet. 😅
The miyoo flip looks like garbage with respect to fit and finish. Its a shame too, dual joysticks and the power to run N64, but that hardware is crammed in recycled gum wrappers held together with spit and ass sweat. The hinge looks like ass too, so bad.
Does it comes with all those games or do we have to load our own BIOS and ROMS?
Comes with the games and bios, everything I showed is from the stock SD card it came with
Just got my 35XXSP, has anyone figured out how to remove various system bezels with stock firmware 240511? Every time I change it in RA and go back to a game the system themed bezels return. I prefer full screen aspect ratio with no boarders. The only one I would consider keeping is the GBA SP bottom bezel.
Oh it was sold out this time, barely after 3AM. I was both unfortunately up and not in a position to purchase.
Given how unhappy I am able the charge port, battery issue with my new 35xx-H, I only got to play a few times and already need to return, unless there's a miracle of customer service, first and last Anbernic, I'll ever buy.

The V90 is still the best budget clamshell device. The RG35XX SP looks good but could've been better. I may buy it on a sale. Good video dude! ❤

does atomiswave do anything other than dolphin blue? i found a Dreamcast port (i think) that i use instead of having atomiswave just for one game. i suppose thats not too uncommon with arcade boards tho.

Still new to the library, but so far its my favorite on that system, there looks to be some other good ones from casually playing. Would love to try a Dreamcast port!
@@retrohandhelds im pretty sure there was a patch that i needed to apply to the rom to get it to boot properly but it was definitely a Dreamcast port. Would be nice to get it goin on a flash modded Dreamcast hooked up to a nice CRT tv!
i think i ran into issues getting my atomiswave emulator to work and thats what led me to find the port, but i should go back and see if i can get atomiswave running. (Batocera on RG35XX+) id like to check out the other titles too!

I enjoyed this first look. 3AM Stubbs managed to hit the right balance of zany and serious which made this first-look video a pleasure to watch. I don't really have anything else to add about the device. I'm interested because the Anbernic SP is cool like the backside of the pillow. Well, metaphorically speaking anyways.
I do have one question: if I were to buy this to use, in part, as an MP3 player does it play through the headphone jack with the lid closed and/or screen off?

Ok, I'm almost afraid to ask....how long is Ambernic shipping to the US?
Generally, about 1 - 2 weeks, looks like pre-orders start arriving to people by May 22nd according to AliExpress.
I'm so torn on this one.. On one hand, it takes me back to my multiple SPs as a kid, but.. also.. the memories of cramping.. Then there's the fact that I already own two H700s.. But I want to support clamshells, just.. wider ones like the DS/3DS line. I'm sure you understand. 💚
I’m trying to find the right handheld emulator for me. Primarily I want to play Pokemon rom hacks; which I imagine aren’t too complicated to load on to a system like this. What I’m wondering about is fan made games like Pokemon Xenoverse or Uranium - is it possible to load those games on to a system; Anbernic H series or otherwise??

I would mainly play GBA games on this device I will definitely be picking one (maybe two) up.
I was undecided between the DMG color and the Transparent Blue. But from the Anbernic ''trailers'' in the DMG the edges of the display are black (as for the other color displays), while in reality, as can be seen from the purchase page and from some examples that reviewers have, the edges of the display are white... Unfortunately the white edges with the ''white'' frame of the console around it, seem to have too much excess edge. I really don't like it. They therefore simplified the choice for blue xD Maybe later, I'll take the DMG and mount the display with black borders..

What's a really good emulation device that is more like a Game Gear in form? I'm talking something other than hacking a Switch or using a Steam Deck.

Z Pocket, the people behind the Unicorn handheld that's been getting press lately and are related to GKD somehow, have been teasing exactly what you want. It's called the Z Pocket Bubble.
In form it's basically a Game Gear with two extra face buttons and a pair of sticks. It looks beautiful. It has a 3.5 inch screen and is powered by a RK3566, so it should be decent. The Bubble is supposed to debut sometime this year. As you can tell it's something I've been looking forward to.
This or wait for the miyoo mini flip?
If the Flip happens anytime soon, I think its worth waiting and comparing. So far no confirmation on release. Hopefully soon!

First party Nintendo games like that are missing on purpose, so you'd just need to add them yourself 🙏
0:16 It's not a GBA, it's a GBA SP, the SP is important. If you care about the color I'd order when it goes live. I have had to compromise on the color on their devices I got a few times because I waited. I'm alright with all of them really. I do like how you can put a picture in the Clear ones though.

This one will sell like crazy! Next must be a DS version with a little more power like a T820 chip (RG556) (for 2ds and 3ds games) and double screen (for around 250) because the AYANEO FLIP DS is crazy priced for 1000+....

Well its dome switch instead of the rubber membrane from the Flip, i'm testing the flip now and SP is certainly stiffer in comparison though.

Those buttons sound brutal 🤣 Repeated hand fatigue over time can absolutely contribute to carpel tunnel down the road. Won’t be getting one, much as I’d like to. Hoping they revise it next year (seems likely at some point).

I think the OG SP has clicky buttons they are trying to emulate.

Same chipset and performance, but you do get 2 additional analogue sticks and L3/R3.

I really want a clam, but my Aliexpress experience has been terrible (no welcome deal and prices changing after payment authorization). Navigating Aliexpress is a pita and some of the items, I wish you could block , because I do not want to see that ****.
My 35xx-H has a battery, charge port issue, on top of that. I can't afford this 💩
