As always, I appreciate the fact that your HollowLife series includes some hidden lore which most other Hololive animations don't really have (not saying it's a bad thing for other animations to not have hidden lore). It's what makes your animations unique and gets me excited hoping to see what comes next.
I've written down some of my brief notes based on different video frames, video descriptions, and comments from you and other viewers about the lore of the HollowLife series. There may be some stuff I'm missing, but here's what I was able to gather for now.
- The series takes place in the 1940s in a small village called _Las Ome._ Amelia Watson in this universe was an android spy formerly owned by Sherlock Holmes who was sent to Las Ome to live a normal life with what remaining time she has in her life. She worked as a preschool teacher who taught a small group of students including Gura as a little android.
- Androids are not uncommon in _Las Ome_ since the village housed several androids that lived in harmony with humans. The theory where humans got greedy and wanted a Gura for themselves leading to a mass production of Gura androids suddenly going wrong is still mostly plausible, BUT is not the full picture.
- Gura's channel with 3,620,000 subs/fans is featured before the selling of Gura androids. Possibly that channel belonged to the little Gura android that Amelia taught in preschool and she got famous. I would question what a youtube channel is doing in the 1940s, but I'm not gonna question it considering there exists technology capable to mass-producing androids and having a server room to control these androids (based off a single frame from ep 2).
- Alternatively, Gura's channel might NOT even belong to the Gura android from preschool. It might have belonged to the *original Gura* that isn't an android. This original Gura was the (idk how to say it) informational base for the Gura androids that would eventually be mass-produced. The brain scans and x-rays we see belong to the original Gura. Whether she willingly let herself be examined or not for the sake of the androids is an uncertainty. The Gura in preschool might have been one of the early mass-produced Guras.
- HollowLife/Yagoo Industries potentially took notice of her fame and wanted to gain profit off her popularity so they wanted to mass-produce Gura androids. It was so popular that Gura androids sold out quickly during the initial sales, most likely forcing the industries to speed up the productions.
- Considering HollowLife is the title of the series, there's something going on with this company other than the fact they mass-produced Gura androids. Perhaps it was their intention for the Gura AIs to go rogue and cause destruction? Or maybe it was an accident all along? Potentially the Government caught wind of how they were using original Gura's body as a basis to create the androids and they banned the production due to inhumane acts, leading to HollowLife retaliating by giving the Gura AIs the Corruption Patch? Maybe HollowLife itself is a company only consisting of AIs without human control. Something definitely went wrong down the line after the popularity of Gura androids. More info about this might be revealed later.
- It's clear that the Gura android in episodes 2-3 (maybe also 1) did not turn and retained their sanity (aka did not receive the Corruption Patch from episode 2). Most likely the gun recoil from ep 2 damaged her Processing System along with her bottom teeth, making her unable to receive the patch. Perhaps during the events of the shooting range, all Gura androids are normal. Sometime after the events of the shooting range, the Corruption Patch was sent out. Again, the reason for this Corruption Patch's existence isn't 100% known.
- There's also the Directive AME/OVERDRIVE from ep 2. This might have also been what prevented the Gura android in eps 2-3 from receiving the Corruption Patch. This Gura android might've been the one from Amelia's preschool and she cared deeply for her, so she gave this Gura a directive which exceeded the Corruption Patch she received. She might've known about this patch due to her former work as a spy, so she worked on making that directive for Gura's sake before the Corruption Patch was sent out.
- Sometime after the Corruption Patch was sent out, humans (and maybe other military androids) went to war against the Gura androids, but it was clearly futile.
- Uncertain on what Korone's role is in the series. Most likely to be revealed later.
- The final shot of a Gura in a dress out on the fields saying "Who are you? Watson..." still intrigues me and fills me with uncertainty. I can only guess that is the original Gura who either knew the Amelia android spy or knew the original Amelia who was used to create the Amelia android. Perhaps the reason Amelia cared about the Gura android in preschool is because she knew the original Gura.
*Current Conclusion:*
In the early 1940s when androids were becoming a thing, original Gura (final shot ep 3) was a famous youtuber. Due to her popularity along with androids, fans wanted to own a Gura android. She (either willingly or unwillingly) offered herself to HollowLife/Yagoo Industries to use her body to mass-produce Gura androids for profit which became insanely popular. Unfortunately HollowLife was involved with relying on shady inhumane processes when it came to creating their Gura android which the Government might've eventually found out and disapproved. As a retaliation, HollowLife created the Corruption Patch.
Android Amelia Watson somehow knew the original Gura. When she moved to Las Ome to live normally as a preschool teacher, she was surprised to find a little Gura android and took care of her. As a former android spy, Ame was able to learn about the Corruption Patch so she created a Directive program for Gura to override the Corruption Patch when it got sent out to all Gura androids. Her damage to her processing system from her gun recoil accident also helped with preventing the Patch.
Sometime after the shooting range event, the Corruption Patch was sent out to all Gura androids, causing them to go on a rampage. Humans tried to stop it but failed due to HollowLife constantly mass-producing these corrupted Gura androids. The Gura android from Ame's preschool is the only one who isn't corrupted.
There are still many uncertainties that I hope will be revealed in the future. But this is all I'm able to gather for now.

_Alternatively,_ thinking about it more and rewatching the videos, it's possible that HollowLife really did discontinue the mass-production of Gura androids and the Government ordered all Gura androids to be recalled and disposed of due to HollowLife's violation of human rights during the production process. This Gura android here is probably one of the illegal ones that did not get recalled.
Sometime between the events of the productions ceasing and ep 3 (which is a decently long time), HollowLife might have created the Corruption Patch and sent it out to all Gura androids no matter their condition. Not only does this Corruption Patch cause them to go on a rampage, it also revived ANY Gura android, no matter what state or condition they're in. Hence why the corrupted Gura android army all look broken down and worn out since they were originally sent to be scrapped.
If I may ask, how did you deduce the timeframe of the 1940s?
I'm not trying to poke holes in anything, and honestly this whole analysis is as impressive as it is convincing, I'm just curious as to what evidence or rationalization made the 1940s seem like the most logical era for this to be happening in
@@Texan.Insomniac In one of the comments in this video, I do believe MysteriMaan stated that this was in the 1940s unless I interpreted it wrong.
EDIT: To be more specific, he didn't specifically state the series itself took place in the 1940s. He hinted towards it when a commenter mentioned about the Gura android costing $599.
It should also be noted that the Amelia in this universe used to be owned by Sherlock Holmes (1800s to early 1900s) and moved to Las Ome to live a normal life after Sherlock died, based on one of the video descriptions. She was also an android spy during the Civil War era. It is unknown how much time passed between Sherlock's passing and Amelia's move to Las Ome, but it's highly possible the series of events took place in early to mid 1900s.

Just noticed Gura's also one of the androids looking at her glowing eyes, but prolly the only one left not corrupted.
She's probably the same Gawr Gura Android that decked herself with the Uppercut Handcannon in the last Video.
It's likely the reason she is still uncorrupted. The damage to her processor likely prevented her from receiving the Corruptive Signal that made the Androids Hostile to Humanity.

I like this idea. Imagine the protagonist of a series who ends up having to fight robot copies of herself, only to realize that she's not the original, but just another robot copy that wasn't corrupted. That's some existential dread, I think. Part of this battle would involve her rescuing the original flesh and bone Gura, but then what happens to the last uncorrupted copy?

This animation is just incredible. It is a TF2 reference, the characters use hunt showdown weapons, an incredible way to tell a story, the remake of reflect, the voice lines used are amazing and the core idea just pops

The amount of lore in a single episode gave me chills.
And in less than 3 minutes to top it off.
The lore-density is unprecedented. The lore-to-frame ratio is at least 5. If you use the [] keys you can move the video one frame at a time.
"Corrupt Vtuber androids take over the world except for a ragtag group who use Hunt: Showdown weapons to fight back" is such a bizarre concept and direction to take Hololive in.
It shouldn't work, but you've managed to not only make it believable, but engrossing as hell. I was begging the video not to end. Well done.

EDIT: I just noticed that the revolvers Gura is using this time around are the regular versions instead of the Uppercut model from last episode. Guess she learned from the recoil lol.

So what I'm getting from this is that the guy in bed in the first episode grew up with these Gura Androids, then stuff started going bad. While they were at a shooting range preparing for the worst his Gura damaged her teeth, which then meant she didn't get corrupted. I'm guessing the other holo-members are also androids, but they're either unaffected by the corruption the Gura models faced, or they each had some sort of incident too
I think Ame is only a cyborg. Only her eye and left arm are mechanical. She probably lost them somehow. Gura is the only full android.
It seems this is a world where Gura's popularity led to the creation of android copies of her for people to enjoy. And then one day, they become corrupted and cause an apocalypse of sorts. Our Gura here thought she was the original one, but later learned that she's just an android like the rest. When she knocked out her teeth, she prevented herself from being taken over by the spreading virus that corrupted the rest of the androids. Now they fight against an army of them. The Gura at the end is the real one.

I wanna make a theory:
In this episode,we’ll see the flash of corrupted gura Android(?) face again,I think it was the first one among them that got corrupted. I’m not really sure that the source of corruption is the first corrupted gura or the Akai haato(hachama) from the animatic one or not.

I love this series. The base story is clear enough that just watching will give it to you. But to find the Full story you're gonna have to pay attention to backgrounds and even small frames. Overall really excited to see where this goes.

I loved picking apart the frames of the video to try to get a feel of the backstory on what's happening and why as well as the subtle world building. I can't wait to see more!

She just seems so majorly more pissed off about the whole situation and with her replaced arm and the shredded Gura Hoodie she appears like she has been fighting that war for longer than the rest.

Underrated animation
