Mike no on the carbon fiber - just get a new wood piece from another ML or a silver trim even. Wraps get messed up eventually I don’t think it would look good considering the steering wheel is also wood
Mike, this should be your tow vehicle. I had an 01 ML55 that would tow boats. The w163 is more than capable. You can use it to tow the Escalade far far away. 😂

I don't know if anyone told you, I didn't read all the comments, but it appears that battery was manufactured March of 2023 - C23. It used to be A-M, minus capital I, for the months, A for January, E for May, etc... and the years was just the last digit of the year so A8 would have been January 2018. It appears they've changed the battery codes so I'm guessing March 2023 for your battery. I could be wrong. Looking forward to more videos on this one.
If I owned this AMG my plans would be 1. Fix the fan asap 2. Clean and dye leather front seats 3. Properly fix and repair the A pillars 5. Aftermarket double din radio 6. New windshield 7. Look for a new hood if it bothers you that much.
I *LOVE* the ML55 AMG Mikey!!! My sister drives an '03 ML 350. *GREAT* SUVs made by Mercedes!!! Common problems I'm sure you're aware of that I had to address on my sister's ML 350. The FM radio does not work and only the CD & Cassette tape do. It seems to be an antenna thing and I have not changed the radio. The rear matte black pillars always flake off their clear coat, so I wrapped them with Carbon Fiber (fake). Still looks good 10 years later! Also, I replaced the Crankshaft Position Sensor two months ago. Requires an E-Torx 8 to take out! Watch out for the coolant reservoir above the engine. The plastic arms became brittle after 20 years & I had to replace the whole tank last year. Lastly, the alternator regulator is a common problem through wear & a bear to get to! I *CAN'T* wait for the next ML55 AMG video! You *SCORED* Mike!!!!!
I would say this is a pretty great purchase Mike! You chose wisely and yeah those white gauges are really nice to look at. Wish they had those on stuff today. For $1,000 this is a pretty sweet ride and its an AMG! Can't wait for more videos on this and the others!

Love the ML! I actually did a radio upgrade with a backup camera and Carplay on an ML500 on my channel. I recommend using a d2b fiber optic converter to retain the factory amplifier, but hardwiring, (which is what I ended up doing,) works well too. Can't wait to see what you do next with it!

If you're crazy so am I. Although I imagine the 3.2 V6 is cheaper to own. Bought for $800. No window, dead cluster, and black mold around the sunroof. Runs and drives great. My radio works.
Ml55 AMG for $1600, bargain, a few electrical faults, and change the Crank position sensor regardless, change the power steering filter and housing, put a tow bar on it, and use it as your tow/errand mobile, sell the Escalade to pay for the tow bar.

I would say keep the ML 55 for towing. What fell was clearly the deadly MAPLE LEAF !!!. Great Purchase !! 👍🇨🇦
