    Love the way the bike looks. It's just eating up the trail with those chunky tires and that shifter...😙🤌(chef kiss). Great build

    Really don't need a chain whip for those hubs at all,I just put a large screwdriver through the cassette so it locks on the hub,then a rag over the last cog and use channel locks to remove it.25 yrs and never have needed a chainwhip.i love love love this channel tho

      Thanks for sharing! Cool bit of knowledge there for people who don’t have chain whips, not all tools are necessary 👍
      Glad you love the channel 😁🤙 happy riding, mate!

      @@toastyrides that rockhopper is inspiration, your attention to details shows the passion you have for this,you can tell you really enjoy the process, where as some others just grab a part and install it,then wipe it with a rag,you go all out and pull it all apart and really restore it,love the content

      @@skyb8687 thanks! Cool that you like my style, yeah I try and do my best to tidy things up during the builds 👌
      It definitely feels better knowing it’s been cleaned and lubricated properly 🤙

    Another great find.
    A little hack for you from a vet 😉
    Rotate all 3 chainrings clockwise to the next crank arm. It's a lot easier to pedal and yes, the little chain spigot does stick out but can be removed.

      Definitely, glad I jumped on it 😁 Thank you!! I vaguely remember reading about that but haven’t tried it haha.
      I’ll try it out sometime 👍 thank you!

    The abbreviation for Amsterdam is actually a really common one. If you ever get to Amsterdam, the city will be covered in your name! Cool video! Those U-brakes must've been a pain in the ass to install right next to the BB.

      That’s so cool! Hahaha I love that. Would be taking photos of it 😂
      Thank you! Glad you liked the video 😄
      Yeah especially for the frame builder haha.
      I try and install them with the wheel out and the bike upside down, makes it a bit easier. Definitely an awkward and fiddly spot! Looks cool though 👌

    nice vid i had those city jets on a gary fisher very good tires .where did you purchase the grease gun ?

    • @toastyrides
      @toastyrides  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks!! Glad you liked the video 🤙 yeah they’re great tyres, especially for the price.
      The grease gun is a Dualco, available quite a few places (I got it from Trademe). I was recommended it by a friend over the Park Tool one and it’s been great, use it every day.
      Cheers!

    I personally love how you clean and restore bikes, but I think you need to also clean and organized your work area for a much better background view. It will generate more positive views in my opinion.

    I must have missed it, when you went from the UG cassette to the UG 7s did you leave the stock shifters in friction mode or did you change the shifters to 7s?

    • @ReCycledCycler
      @ReCycledCycler 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The stock shifters will do 7 speed in friction but not in indexed shifting
