Izzet the best episode featuring Allie Brosh EVER?! Well... yes. It is. Okay that was an easy one. New #Spellslingers ep. 3 is available now! Allie vs. Sean. Izzet vs. Azorius. Who will claim victory?
This is a strange thing to notice. But i love the fact that she tries to keep eye contact the whole time she's speaking. It's a level of respect that is quite rare. It's hard to look someone in the eyes for more than a few minutes. Especially when you're playing a competitive game against each other. Btw Sean is such a fantastic host. I just found these videos last night and decided to watch them all back to back. Have really enjoyed these. About as much as Table Top.
+Myserieden Really depends on who you are, I find it awkward and a little rude to stare people in the eyes when you're talking to them, and in some Asian countries it is considered very rude to make prolonged eye contact with people.
I actually find it disrespectful to constantly be staring someone in the eyes. It comes off more as a challenge like you are trying to stare me down. I guess it depends on the tone of your glare.
MTGProssh Isn't that like a sure sign of the end of the world? Like, no better mixing of nerdy celebrities will ever again occur in this universe might as well start over.. Who will out joke/pun the other, the battle to end all battles and etc?
Well, let's be fair. If your deck is only giving land and a drake with an accent, your only strategy is hoping is the accent is convincing enough to make the area seem culturally significant for tourists. And hope the tourists will fight for you. I demand hawaiian shirted tourists for blue deck.
I already liked Allie alot. Aaaaand now I like her EVEN MORE. However, am I wrong in thinking she should've also swung with the 5/3 trample dude when she attacked with the ensouled 5/5 artifact? He didn't have any great blocks (could've traded the 3/1, but still taking 4 trample damage), and it would've gotten in at least 4 more damage that turn, which I believe ends up winning the game for her.
rowan knox langford I would like to think it's because she has such confidence in her plays. But I really think it's because it makes a satisfying sound when you do it.
OH MY GOD ALLIE!!! I have been reading her blog for I don't even know how long anymore. It's probably the funniest blog in the history of ever. I rarely fan girl but OH MY GOD.
One of the best so far. The personalities/chemistry was fantastic. It really looked like fun. Allie, as a guest player, did a great job explaining her thought process so a non player like me could appreciate her plans. Very entertaining, if you invite anyone back I recommend you short list her. Great show, and channel.
I love seeing Allie's personality in this! Her comics are incredible, but now that I've seen videos of her I'm just smitten. She's just so dang smart and genuine. I can't say we'd be best friends, because we probably wouldn't. We're too similar! (Err, not to say that I'm exceptionally smart or anything.)
Sean and Allie should do more things together!! I've followed them both for a pretty long while so this made me really happy, they have a great dynamic.
Just wanna say I started watching you guys after I started playing magic, was cool to help me learn some stuff and now im playing with friends everyday and hitting local tournaments, Just wanna say LOVE the show, you are usually not only hilarious, but still find time to help people newer to magic learn the game, awesome series.
That was such a good game! When Sean saw Allie's plan his eyes grew wide with dread and realization! I'm actually inspired to work on my red / blue deck thanks to y'all
Whenever they pass the turn, and the nameplate at the top of the screen squeaks, I always think it's a seagull before I realize where the sound came from.
OMFG! Allie Brosh!!! I LOVE YOUR BOOK!! I am SO stoked to find out that you play Magic! I don't usually freak out about stars but you're too fantastic not to!
Wow. First episode I've watched, and you've hooked me. Not a MtG player, but this episode may have changed that. Great fun, loved the banter, and the general ease-of-play between the two of you. Allie Brosh brought the cute, and Sean... well played, sir. Well played.
I have no idea who Allie Brosh is (might google it, maybe), but, as a seasoned Magic player, this is by far my favorite Spellslingers episode yet. Allie seems energetic in a good way and has some nice chemistry with Sean. She also seems to have some knowledge about Magic, which - imho - is always a plus. I'm fine with complete newcomers playing, but I always welcome "bridging the gap", in a sense, aka explaining everything in detail for beginners but still having a level of play that can show interested people that Magic actually has some depth to it.
14:04 Reminds me of when Sean was a competitve Starcraft player and went up agaisnt Artosis in the final, when he only had 1 pylon powering his whole base. and sean destroyed it thus leading to the win. that was almost 2 decades ago but awesome flashback moment i got
I wouldn't call myself a truly "seasoned" player, but I'm not a noob either and I love this show. It's similar to table top, but with Magic instead and I always love to see people goof around and play Magic. It's a good way to pass the time.
"Let me just hand this to you," fantastic work Allie Brosh, you are my hero. (I feel as though your puntential wasn't taken advantage of in this clip). I love Spellslingers though, keep it up.
nice to see another side of allie brosh, love her comic and her book. seeing some of her little IRL mannerisms i can see how the character in her comics fits her really well.
I was reaaaaally surprised that Sean didn´t know about Lava Axe, I mean c´mon! I´ts one of red´s most iconic cards! Yet he knows that a 3/1 is unusual for white, which is something that comes from the new split of the color pie.
I generally don't get along with Magic the Gathering (used to work in a hobby store, have to compete with it for my fiancé's attention, etc. etc.), but I couldn't resist watching a video with Allie Brosh and to my COMPLETE shock I have been quite entertained the whole way through! I am thoroughly charmed by the host, and I didn't think it was possible for me to feel anything but irritated by someone explaining Magic rules to me. One critique though: the wiggly camerawork during the cut-in interviews is really distracting (slash nauseating?) Although maybe that's just my taste as someone who is patently not your target audience! Anyway cheers
Honestly I'm not here for the the magic games, but day9 (Sean) is such a great host (no one can resist his charm) and the guests are always interesting people. Plus it's a hilarious show. And it's not like the promotional value of this show is lost on me. I honestly feel like getting into magic if I find some friends willing to do the same so I have someone to play against.
At 16:58 the better play for Allie would have been to cast the juggernaught and just swing with the red 3/3 creature. This would force Sean to either trade with his flyer or to let the damage through. If Sean does decide to block both creatures would die. On Sean's next turn he wouldn't be able to swing because Allie's flyer would be able to block and live during first strike and then her creature would kill his flyer.
There is the wall of frost and there is my personal favorite.. THE wall of denial a 3 drop 0/8 with defender, flying, and shroud.. A control deck's best friend when you drop a supreme verdict
Wow, Lava Axe--think those were in the first pre-built decks I ever played in Magic about 15 years ago! And with exactly the same artwork as well, as I recall...
I would frequent Hyperbole and a Half since I stumbled upon a link to it on reddit a while back. I never knew who was behind it. Allie Brosh is absolutely adorable. I got a crush! >.
It's like a game I was playing last weekend. I was using my goblin burn deck, and my opponent had a mill deck. He had enough forces near the end I couldn't attack and I wasn't drawing enough burn to clear the field. Then after milling me down to 4 cards left in my library (on his next turn he would have milled the rest), I drew disintegrate, and managed to burn away the rest of his life all at once for the win.
Love Allie Brosh. By the way, she put out a new book last year called _Solutions and Other Problems._ It's really good. It sounds like she's going through a lot, I wish her every happiness.
I couldn't love Allie Brosh more and so SO happy she came and played Magic on the channel!
You should definitely propose, in that case.
It was great seeing Allie geek out about Magic - I only know her through Hyperbole and a Half and it was great seeing another side of her.
I wish she updated Hyperbole and a Half more often! :)
It was great episode.
***** Absolutely. Hyperbole and a Half is the most awesome comic I've ever read. Hell, its about the most awesome thing I've ever read, period.
Izzet the best episode featuring Allie Brosh EVER?! Well... yes. It is. Okay that was an easy one.
New #Spellslingers ep. 3 is available now! Allie vs. Sean. Izzet vs. Azorius. Who will claim victory?
this was a fun game to watch! who's face do i have to pinch real hard to get on this show?
This is a strange thing to notice. But i love the fact that she tries to keep eye contact the whole time she's speaking. It's a level of respect that is quite rare. I think Allie may well have been the best Magic player they've had on this series. She seemed to have a very firm grasp on the strategy.
Wait until LSV Gets there
MTGProssh Isn't that like a sure sign of the end of the world? Like, no better mixing of nerdy celebrities will ever again occur in this universe might as well start over.. Who will out joke/pun the other, the battle to end all battles and etc?
Well it is confirmed
Well, let's be fair. If your deck is only giving land and a drake with an accent, your only strategy is hoping is the accent is convincing enough to make the area seem culturally significant for tourists. And hope the tourists will fight for you.
I demand hawaiian shirted tourists for blue deck.
MTGProssh
Who or what is an LSV?
"I like interacting in the stack"
10/10 would use as pickup phrase.
Is it me or do those two have REALLY good banter/chemistry? I wanna see Allie Brosh and Day 9 do more shit together...
I know I'm late. But Day9 has great chemistry with everyone. He's just a fantastic host.
@@sambanks760 WTF
The look on his face as he realized how close he came to death was priceless.
I already liked Allie alot. Aaaaand now I like her EVEN MORE.

I really appreciate that even with a million subscribers Felicia and Geek & Sundry comment and/or reply on every video.
"What does Lava Axe do?" Oh Sean.
x1teDota yeah seriously how doesn't he know lava axe it's in most core sets.
Paused the video immediately to find this comment - 4th one down.
You can tell she is a pro because she snaps her cards down when she puts them on the field.
+Jared Miner But why do they do this?
rowan knox langford I would like to think it's because she has such confidence in her plays. But I really think it's because it makes a satisfying sound when you do it.
Okey
"Let me just hand this to you". He flippin' missed the pun. Fail.
Yeah I was disturbed by that
"So that's all I can do unfortunately.. Or izzet.." Oh my god I feel like I laughed way to hard at that..
OH MY GOD ALLIE!!! I have been reading her blog for I don't even know how long anymore. It's probably the funniest blog in the history of ever. I rarely fan girl but OH MY GOD.

Man, all the guests so far in season 2 has been great! I always look forward to watching these videos.
I'm two minutes in and Allie has already made about 20 puns that have completely gone over Sean's head.
This game was one of the best i've seen from season one and two thus far.
nice going you two!
I always really like it when the guest knows their stuff.
Honestly this is probably my favourite spellslingers so far!
I love seeing Allie's personality in this! Her comics are incredible, but now that I've seen videos of her I'm just smitten. She's just so dang smart and genuine.
I can't say we'd be best friends, because we probably wouldn't. We're too similar! (Err, not to say that I'm exceptionally smart or anything.)
poor sean, not noticing the pun "let me just hand this to you"
Too many days between Spellslingers episodes... so happy when they come out and Allie is AWESOME!
They have an amazing amount of chemistry. They felt like a long term relationship level of comfort and banter. It made for an entertaining watch.
Sean and Allie should do more things together!! I've followed them both for a pretty long while so this made me really happy, they have a great dynamic.
Just wanna say I started watching you guys after I started playing magic, was cool to help me learn some stuff and now im playing with friends everyday and hitting local tournaments, Just wanna say LOVE the show, you are usually not only hilarious, but still find time to help people newer to magic learn the game, awesome series.

didnt even flinch when he was flailing the plastic arm around. awesome guest!
"When you're in need for white mana, tap the land card the color of banana."
The guy writing these is pretty funny. XD
Loved the whole thing. So happy you guys brought this to youtube.
All three episodes have been great. This one was my favorite. Funny as hell and best game play yet.

"When you're in need for white mana, tap the land card the colour of banana"
I fucking love you guys.
Another great episode. Sean was awesome as always and Allie seemed very nice and showing off some very nice MTG plays :)
I don't play MtG, or even really know much about it, but I find this immensely entertaining! Well done G&S!
this lady invented the "ALL THE THINGS" meme awesome
I have no idea who Allie Brosh is (might google it, maybe), but, as a seasoned Magic player, this is by far my favorite Spellslingers episode yet.
Allie seems energetic in a good way and has some nice chemistry with Sean. She also seems to have some knowledge about Magic, which - imho - is always a plus.

I didn't know who Allie was, but I liked her, she seems nice :D
Google "hyperbole and a half", her blog. She's very internet famous, and mostly for something quite topical given a recent sad event.
She has a book, buy it!! Haha, I adore her
If this was ANYONE but Allie and Sean? I'd be bummed they didn't start playing until 7 mins in. But OMG their chemistry. May I ship yall? =D
When she straightens her cards out, haha! A sign of a Magic: the Gathering player. Love it.
14:04 Reminds me of when Sean was a competitve Starcraft player and went up agaisnt Artosis in the final, when he only had 1 pylon powering his whole base. and sean destroyed it thus leading to the win. that was almost 2 decades ago but awesome flashback moment i got

ALLIE BROSH! She's so awesome
Spellslingers is maybe the most entertaining thing on TH-cam right now love love love it super dry funny I love it
DRAW ALL THE CARDS
TAP ALL THE LANDS
BURN ALL THE MANA
SUMMON ALL THE DUDES
DESTROY ALL THE THINGS
FLIP ALL THE MORPHS
"Let me just hand this to you," fantastic work Allie Brosh, you are my hero. (I feel as though your puntential wasn't taken advantage of in this clip). I love Spellslingers though, keep it up.
nice to see another side of allie brosh, love her comic and her book. seeing some of her little IRL mannerisms i can see how the character in her comics fits her really well.
WOOO go Sean. This season has been excellent so far. I don't know the guests except for the mma guy, but they have all been fun to watch
May you draw well!
Freaking Love This Series! Its so educational and hysterical at the same time
Not a magic player. Probably won't be but god i love these videos. Could watch this Day 9 guy for hours!
I just love this show - So much nostalgia for me who have not played magic in over ten years! Keep up the good work G & S! :D
these decks bring me great pain...but the commentary from them keeps me entertained
Kevin is a good deckbuilder. I like the decks this season more than last season.
I was reaaaaally surprised that Sean didn´t know about Lava Axe, I mean c´mon! I´ts one of red´s most iconic cards! Yet he knows that a 3/1 is unusual for white, which is something that comes from the new split of the color pie.
He and Allie are so much fun though! Best Ep of the season so far!
She seems like a very fun person.
Great match! Keep these episodes coming Sean!
in 20:00 Allie did a little mistake. If she don't will be attacked, she will survived. But GG. Really good game.
This may be the best episode yet.
AH! My very first and favorite Spellslingers episode!
I generally don't get along with Magic the Gathering (used to work in a hobby store, have to compete with it for my fiancé's attention, etc. etc.), but I couldn't resist watching a video with Allie Brosh and to my COMPLETE shock I have been quite entertained the whole way through! Im not a Magic player and I love it xD
Loved how Sean was like: "What does this card "Lava Axe" ,that has been in magic since the 7th edition and has appeared in every core set, do?"
Allie Brosh is awesome; this may well be my favorite Spellslingers yet. Okay, maybe tied with Michele Boyd last season. :)
Love the show! Was nice seeing more of the blue enchantments. Blue is definitely one of my favorites.
These are awesome videos. I could see how they would make someone who has never played want to get into magic
she is now like me role model I read her book called Hyperbole and a half and I've read it like 10 times AND she plays Magic MIND BLOWN
Two adorable, funny people playing MTG. Thank you for the 20 minutes of joy. :)
There is the wall of frost and there is my personal favorite.. THE wall of denial
a 3 drop 0/8 with defender, flying, and shroud.. A control deck's best friend when you drop a supreme verdict
Wow, Lava Axe--think those were in the first pre-built decks I ever played in Magic about 15 years ago! And with exactly the same artwork as well, as I recall...
Man I love this series so much.
Aww, Allie and Sean are such good sports! This was a joy to watch.
I would frequent Hyperbole and a Half since I stumbled upon a link to it on reddit a while back. I never knew who was behind it. Allie Brosh is absolutely adorable. I got a crush! >.
15:44 Draw ALL the cards!
Great guest, great episode. I can't wait to see the blooper reel for this one.
Best Episode of this Season of Spellslingers.
Well Played Allie Brosh!!!
I like to think that "Summoning Sickness" involves violent vomiting. Makes the mental image of these epic wizardly battles far more humorous.
I'm actually rewatching the series. And every friggin time the camera cuts to Sean's side i think that some dude is standing behind him...
Yea i know. I just get startled by the dark figure.
Technically, your not wrong.
You need to do more spell singers! It's hands down the best show for mtg hilarity. It could really take off IMHO
Sean is just absolutely excellent.
I don't even play Magic, but I keep watching this series for the personalities.
I love Spellslingers, highlight of my week.
This was great fun!
My favorite episode of the show!
Allie is such a lovely person & a great Magic player
love these episodes. make more more often please.
I really like Allie! I hope they have her on Tabletop this season!
I think these need to be best of 3. I love this series.
I hope Allie is doing well! She's left her fans feeling worried for her.
Timing is everything.
lmao 17:49 "Can you pick this card up for me?"
Love Allie Brosh. By the way, she put out a new book last year called _Solutions and Other Problems._ It's really good. It sounds like she's going through a lot, I wish her every happiness.
Love you Allie!, great episode.
Thank God, Allie's alive! She vanishes from time to time and scares the crap out of her fans.
"To be cool, blue and red deck called Izzet. - Is it? - Izzet. - Is it though? - IT IS!
This episode gave me a metric ton of joy.
Day[9] is just too damn charming. Couple him with Allie Brosh and the results are adorable.
