      sm57 is all around a world workhorse. It will work with everything:)

    Ummm...you are not even CLOSE to overload on the 4033 with congas

      yup i use 4033's in rotf as stage mics when recording live bands. with a pad on nearly impossible to overload even with out the -10 db pad. i would recommend an akg 412 as well. same price bigger diaphragm both transformer-less, same quality akg just a little more bass and a slower transient
