Hello Mike.! I have watched number of videos on Excel Training and tricks on number of channels but I definitely can tell that this channel is the best. Further, I am wondering if you have something available for VBA, like “Basics to Advance in VBA”, as I am very much interested to get into VBA or maybe you can suggest something about VBA which you are aware of. That will be a help. Thanks.
I am not good with VBA so I don't videos about it. Here are two great TH-cam channels: th-cam.com/channels/-vzNYU9x8IYPk_r89mGvXA.html th-cam.com/channels/9OIUFZfYqELCFwWxT7OpKQ.html
Thanks for sharing an amazing trick. Hey can you provide a solution about how to "Move or create a copy" of multiple workbooks that contain Tables? I hope there is a solution of this problem from Mike.
Never heard of bankers rounding - from my experience it's not common in many sectors.....correct? On a side note, when you load a table from PQ, is the file size bigger than when you create a Connection Only? Is the file size smaller when you create a pivot table off of a PQ Connection Only or table? Thanks Mike.
In many sectors, banking, science and others, Banker's round is required. It is common. It is us who are out of the loop. Think of it this way: why would VBA, Access, Power Query and other databases all use this rounding by default. Yes, Connection Only is a great Trick to reduce file size!!!!
Hi Mike, today I have ran into problem when I changed the file extension from .xlsx to .xlsm. Query which was OK before this change, failed to refresh. Whether the change is not allowed after building a query? One more question can we change the target folder (in case of query "From Folder"), to enable to extract data from any other folder?
If you change file extension, your query has to be able to withstand that. So go back to the query step where you filtered out the extraneous file extensions and modify it so it will accept ".xlsm". To change Folder, Open Query in Edit mode, then in Applied Steps list, double click first step named "Source" (or click Gear icon), then you can edit file path. Seer if that helps. Let me know.
Sorry for creating confusion by mixing 2 different questions. Regarding the 2nd portion of my question, by editing the source folder it works fine. My 1st question was about changing the file extension of "main file" in which query was build, it also works fine even after changing its extension. Actually at the time when I faced problem of refreshing the main file, there was another file of "source folder" was also opened. When I closed the file of source folder, problem was solved. Thank you very much for your precious guidance and response.
Awesome, learnt two new things today!
: ) : ) : )
Thanks Mike. Number.round has 4 arguments, I never knew this. I should have watched this video a long time ago!! : ) : )
Yes, it is important to know : )
Before watching your videos, Power Query sounds "Horrible" but now it is a "FUN". Thanks a lot :)
That is awesome! excelisfun and powerqueryisfun!!!!

Banker's rounding...nice video on the concept!
Glad you like it1 Yes, most systems use this because it is more accurate!

I am trying to round to nearest 0.05. It was easy with mround in excel. Is there a way to do it in power query?

Cool. Good to know. I guess my experience is limited :( Thanks again.
