Its a shame to call the record a "standard deathcore album". Its far from standard 08/15. For me FFAA gets only better with every record and OWTFH was my top album at spotify. "More soul" is a good explanation. Plenty of melody und speed changes, not just blast beating through the songs

Ghost never should be chosen as the “best” album of the year. Favourite album of the year? Obviously but the best album? No way. It’s rock with metal sound. Ghost hasn’t done anything new to be the best.
Zeal and Ardor does not do neo-soul, those influences are from old work songs and spirituals. Also, my issue with the new album is that those parts have significantly diminished from their first two albums. Still competent, but doesn't really feel as special as those.
Top metal albums? Origin, Immolation, Woebather, Adati, Pharmacist, Tome of Alsiare, Trembling void, Spiral staircase Ghost is everything that's wrong in the world now, wrapped in one band. .
I really liked the first two or three Ghost albums and have defended them on many occasions. But they’ve just completely lost me as a fan at this point.

If this is the Top 10 to 6 of 2022's Metal then we're already done. But Metal is not done yet so take care of what you promote. I mean...pff. I will watch the second part as well and then express my final verdict. Is this coming from the fans???
Fuck yeah, Fit for an Autopsy. On reply all year.
Origin, Immolation, Woebather, Adati, Pharmacist, Tome of Alsiare, Trembling void, Spiral staircase
Ghost is everything that's wrong in the world now, wrapped in one band. .

I really liked the first two or three Ghost albums and have defended them on many occasions. But they’ve just completely lost me as a fan at this point.
