A beautiful deck but I love sticking to the traditional symbols.
    Old school works for me🎉

Am enjoying updating the Cross, the Whip and the Lily. The ring, not so much. For me the ring is also a cycle, on going, and uniquely Birthdays, anniversarys and important dates

We totally have similar takes on this - if I was to do a deck I would def update these three too!!

I'm fine with changing symbols. I think it's important to remember that the original symbols were products of their time, they were everyday things that people were familiar with. Some of those things aren't relevant in quite the same way, like the ship, for example, would probably be better represented by an airplane now

The Clouds card with the inverted figure reminds me of the Tarot's Hanged man. I don't resonate with taking the cyclical nature out of the ring - contract seems too rigid in meaning, i.e. ring could also mean a promise. Same with the whip not having the repetitive element.

@@chakracoach2181 I didn’t make that connection before but it kind of does remind me of the hanged man!! Thanks for sharing your takes too!

Not a fan of this one, although the cardstock looks lovely. Some of the changes are so personal to the creator that it strikes me as more of a Lenormand based oracle deck, or maybe a Kipper. Because there are only 36 cards, for me each card must potentially be applicable to multiple contexts, so making big changes limits interpretation (unless a reader can ignore them and revert to original meanings like we may do in tarot, but I find that a bother in Lenormand). Why not add extra cards and leave the basic imagery and interpretations alone? I don’t care for the figures, especially the one on the Moon and the Rider. Is there any diversity built into the deck? I also don’t care for the backs. Coming from tarot I appreciate some artful care taken there. (What is Cycle One?) I do realize that I’m more of a traditionalist with Lenormand. I don’t want to struggle getting a quick gist from idiosyncratic images that might compel me to look at the LWB. There will be others who feel quite differently, of course.
Yes, please do more reviews 😊

Appreciate your take on this, especially regarding diversity! We def need more decks with diversity and non-binary people cards. I think "Cycle 1" is just referring to first printing? (I also am not 100% if I received a slightly diff version as an early reviewer). I like looking at new takes on things and appreciate the creativity - great for daily draws and such for me but I agree that my workhorse decks tend to have more stark depictions to make it easier to read!
