OK…..now do this with the engine mounted in the North Star 13000 Generator frame. Had to resort to using a large screwdriver through the oil filter, NO clearance for wrenches, and the air filter is buried under low clearance of the fuel tank and roll cage… lol.
Haha yep I know what you mean! We quite often get Jetters that use these engines in our workshop, fitted snug in a frame, fuel tank right above the air filter & mounted with no access to the oil filter! A basic service quickly turns into a full swear jar!
Hi, I have a Honda gx690 engine running my power generator. The last time started, it ran for about 3 minutes, then stopped. Upon checking I realized that the carb as well as the exhaust muffler are all filled with fuel. I have tried this on three occasions and same scenario. Please what might be wrong? Thanks
Hi Abraham, It sounds like you Carby is flooding, most likely due to contaminants between the needle & seat inside the Carby not allowing the fuel flow to stop. The Carby will need to be removed & cleaned thoroughly, along with a new fuel filter and a good look in the fuel tank to make sure it's not full of bits of dirt/debris. I would also check the engine oil, when I see this issue in the workshop it normally fills the engine sump with fuel as well which dilutes the engine oil. If this is the case the engine oil will need to be removed & refilled, with a new oil filter. Thanks mate, I hope this helps! - David
