I love that at the beginning of the interview Jon initiates the handshake as a sign of respect for the interviewer and at the end after having talked to Jon and hearing his music live, the interviewer initiates the handshake as a sign of respect for Jon. Maybe it doesn't mean anything and I am looking too much into it. Just my thoughts.
dude the members of switchfoot especially this guy, have been my heroes since i was nine years old, and for good reasons. they truly are a great intsrument that God uses to communicate to many people including me, they have lifted me up when im down, showed me morality in a time that does not accept it, and taught me not to lose myself in the chaos that is life, by always leading me back to God. im planning on being a musician and these guys are the reason why. so i say hello hurricane....
I love to listen to the songs played by Switchfoot, and Fiction Family w/Jon Foreman, as well as Jon's spring/summer/fall/winter EP's. When I heard him talk about writing many songs that will never be heard, it reminded me of an interview years ago w George Harrison who also said he had written stacks of songs that no one would ever hear. I think Jon Foreman has an anointing on his life and his music is a blessing. I am thankful for the music of Switchfoot. I hope they continue for many years.
Switchfoot's legacy of hope is very inspirational. And Jon is God's instrument. He is a genius in his work and a great singer. Switchfoot has moved me.
I love switchfoot so much, their music inspires me. They inspire me. They are the reason I started playing guitar four years ago. And now I'm going to pursue a career in worship. Their lyrics, speak to me. I love them.
He and his band are new to me. I saw them three weeks ago at the Wharf in Orange Beach, AL. They are superb, and I wondered why they would be with such an electic group of bands...now I know. They are probably the best band I have heard in decades, where in the world have I been all these years? Keep Rockin'.
Jon Foreman and Switchfoot the whole band sooo full of GOD'S Word flows through them musically and lyric just so profound and prolific GOOD GOD I LOVE YOU SO MUCH THANK YOU FOR SAVING ME JESUS I LOVE YOU JESUS.
Jon Forman rocks, great singer and songwriter of our time. How sweet it is to have in our generation. He is so genuine, how cool in this world of so much sorrow.
Imagine if switchfoot was around 40 years ago and they're the big influence rather than the Beatles... I think we'd be living in a better world hahaha :)
His music with switchfoot has become increasingly "mainstream" and i would argue that was forced upon them by their label, which they have now dropped. One thing was always exceptional in their music and that was the lyrics. Just look at his solo stuff, he is one of the best songwriters of our time. You the man Jon!
"Gravity is the physical attraction between two bodies. So, on a social and political plane, why can't we keep it together? You see headlines every day about things falling apart...basically disobeying the laws of physics." -Jon Foreman from a separate interview.
i know right the main thing that that jon and everyone else in the band concentrates on is just being who you want to be and not letting anyone else tell you what you should do
How do you mean Church Radio? Lot's of these people listen to tons of music. The guys you're mentioning above are the ones I'm already listening to. Thom Yorke, by example, is actually admired by Jon Foreman. I know their music and their songwriting, but still, when I read it all through, I still think Jon might be (on of) the best songwriter(s) of the world. His creativity and way of thinking and putting that into a song is just... amazing.
Dude, you are okay. Switchfoot is my favorite band. I love the way Foreman brings to light a lot of the problems with our society, but it's not just the same old boring lyrics. I also love the way he praises God and can talk about God in his songs without having to come right out and say praise Jesus. He finds new and creative ways to praise God. I don't think anyone writes better or more insightful lyrics than Foreman does.
= ) Thanks for "interviewing" your husband for us and for the reply. I'm so excited because Switchfoot is comming to Guatemala on february 13th. Greetings to you and your husband from this far!
well it took me more then 2 years haha! But I'm sure they'll come to Portugal, I want you to be able to feel the same feeling I did!! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you :)
YES IT DID! Thank you! It seriously was the best night of my life, and I know it sounds like a cliché but I can't help it. It's just the truth :) I actually gave up my hopes of them ever coming to sweden, but just then they do! DREAMS CAN COME TRUE TRUST ME! I'll never forget that day, never forget their smiles at me while signing my arm, amazing. An undescribable feeling. And yes, I cried after the show, but wasn't that completely understandable since my comment is 2 years old? haha
question: how many of those who adore switchfoot like this are GUYS? Please let me know. I'm a guy. I can feel the love that they put in... but this makes me uncomfortable that so many women say what i say. (i'm not gay) so if there are ANY guys, please, help me feel better about myself by telling me if you are one and like switchfoot incredibly, like alot of peeps here. PLZ!!!
Hahaha, I'm happy for you! Honestly you give me strenght to continue to believe that they'll come to Portugal one day. But I hope it doesn't take two years for me too :P
@twiotterluv He's a great lyricist, i dont mean to break that fact down, one of the greatest, but you can't forget Bob Dylan, who fostered the same subtly implied biblical references.
@jaynemarie81 Yes, I had the chance to talk to him when Switchfoot came to Guatemala (twice), and believe me, he's the same person outside the cameras, just a little bit less shy, hehe. :)
its interesting how the negative comments just say everything jon says is a lie, and is to make him look cool. is it not possible that he could be more talented than you AND inteligent?
Jon Foreman is one of my greatest inspirations. I just find the word "founder" misleading. I feel "creator" should he been used. I just feel like founder makes it sound like he only made Switchfoot big. When Jon really made the founation that made switchfoot big. I agree with your reply 100% but thts my own personal thought.
Hmmm the bands I listened to the most were Led Zeppelin also and the other was Lynyerd Skynerd probably didn't spell that right, sorry how would you meld these sounds😅
...and not be able to function properly. I have been through much stress in my life with having Lyme Disease for over 10 years and I was on a ton of antibiotics including 7 months of IV and I can say that love, compassion, kindness from others and kindness to myself, healing thoughts, positive energy, and compassionate individuals helped carry me through and gave me contentment, joy, hope, peace, love, and healing, and none of these things came from made up delusional negative philosophies...
I have so much respect for Jon. He's sincere and extremely gifted.
This is the one band that sings from their hearts and not just for their records and they can help you through times that are hard.
This man's words and music have changed my life. Best songwriter of our generation.
I love that at the beginning of the interview Jon initiates the handshake as a sign of respect for the interviewer and at the end after having talked to Jon and hearing his music live, the interviewer initiates the handshake as a sign of respect for Jon. Jon is so adorable, with a good soul!
I'm so thankful for Switchfoot music!
Switchfoot's legacy of hope is very inspirational. And Jon is God's instrument. He is a genius in his work and a great singer.
Switchfoot has moved me.

Jon Foreman is such a wonderful inspiration; and has been blessed with such an amazing amount of talent. Beautiful. :)
Jon Forman rocks, great singer and songwriter of our time. How sweet it is to have in our generation. He is so genuine, how cool in this world of so much sorrow.
I love Jon!!!! Not only is incredibly talented but he has such a strong passion inside of him...Plus, he's gorgeous!!!

Jon Foreman is my favorite song writer.
Imagine if switchfoot was around 40 years ago and they're the big influence rather than the Beatles... I think we'd be living in a better world hahaha :)
these guys are the reason i play guitar!! love you guys!!!! you are my inspiration!
he is realy amazing a true artist, and we are blessed i love jon and i love switchfoot
His music with switchfoot has become increasingly "mainstream" and i would argue that was forced upon them by their label, which they have now dropped. you just can't beat him. He's just awesome!
i know right
the main thing that that jon and everyone else in the band concentrates on is just being who you want to be and not letting anyone else tell you what you should do
In my opinion, Jon Foreman can do no wrong! He's amazing and so humble!!
Nice tunes and a great insight on songwriting.
To make a living at music is tuff enough. You gotta sacrifice alot to make it happen.
they should just make a seperate album with all the songs that never made it to the cds
How do you mean Church Radio? Lot's of these people listen to tons of music. The guys you're mentioning above are the ones I'm already listening to. God bless you!! Jon you so very special from God...Shalom!!!!!!!
That's a bold statement. Perhaps more along the lines of best songwriter on the radio.
That was great. Jon is so inspiring!
LOVED THIS. Awesome. He's very genuine.

Ha. I was listening to them earlier today while cleaning the kitchen and wondered the exact same thing. :D
collaberation between jon foreman and dustin kensrue would be amazing.
The audio wasn't right. Oh well. That happens in live type situations.
Jesus is my hero....Jon is my inspiration...Shalom!!!
YES IT DID! Thank you! It seriously was the best night of my life, and I know it sounds like a cliché but I can't help it. Jon foreman is a beast.
Welcome to Switchfoot's world!!
jon is 33 and his birthday is oct 22(libra)
"It all go's back to high school ;and led zeppelin".I love it.
this was a day after my birthday :)
16:10-16:14 "My baby's soft and sweet somewhere between a flower and a gun" LOL!!! Love it!!
Hopefully, in ten years I'll be able to proudly say that "It all goes back to highschool and Switchfoot"
@twiotterluv Vocalist I'd say a very small few, like Adam Druitz, are up there with him. But lyricist. Yes.
its interesting how the negative comments just say everything jon says is a lie, and is to make him look cool.
is it not possible that he could be more talented than you AND inteligent?
Because they didnt want to be associated with that one song...
And he is so intelligent...
thier is a lot of variety in switchfoot because none of their albums sound the same :]
i absolutely LOVE war in my blood!!!!
k.m.....mahal na mahal kitaaaah!!!
war in my blood sounds very folk-ish. which is awesome
Jon Foreman is one of my greatest inspirations. I just find the word "founder" misleading. I feel "creator" should he been used. I just feel like founder makes it sound like he only made Switchfoot big. When Jon really made the founation that made switchfoot big. I agree with your reply 100% but thts my own personal thought.
you read my mind men!
('bout min.11) Sure he loves his HOME, i've heard that word in their songs some times.
he is a genius! :D
guyzzzzzzzzz.. is john foreman still single...??
is he available?hahahah lol...
OHHHH his analogies! ;0)
Right, good interviewer and as a result: a good interview. What's the impression of your husband about Jon and Switchfoot? just curious, = )
Augustine just woke up with a broken heart
All this time, he's never been awake before
sorry just wanted to correct your mistake
Hmmm the bands I listened to the most were Led Zeppelin also and the other was Lynyerd Skynerd probably didn't spell that right, sorry how would you meld these sounds😅
I agree! Next to Chris Martin of course!
hmm..I've heard that second song somewheres..;P
your not enough, you cant silence my love.
...and not be able to function properly.
Dude. I just scrolled through, you left 18 comments in a row. You alright? Need someone to talk to?! 😂😂😂
