This is the effortless flood barrier that stores compactly, yet can absorb, contain and divert problem flood water in a matter of minutes. The bags are ready to be deployed without the time-consuming and back-breaking labor of filling sacks with sand. Each bag contains an eco-friendly super-absorbent polymer that activates with water to create a gel. Doesn't this mean that it's density will be almost the same as water and in the event of a flood it would not stand the force of waters

i want to know if there's any way these could help in a basement that sometimes floods in certain areas (to contain or divert water). i guess i’m also looking for something that could soak up a lot of water that's coming in along edges or even the floor after a storm...
