You are such a great Canadian icon Kim! I’m an 80’s gal & still to this day you are always aways in my backyard with family & friends enjoying some good tunes, a few pints by the fire pit! God bless you! Cheers from Saskatchewan baby! 😘
I grew up with Max Webster & Kim Mitchel. Remember seeing him at Wonderland Kingswood Theatre. Seen him so many times a huge fan. He might even remember me as I had a shirt made with his face with a smoke that said I taught Kim to play. I saw him many many years ago at Wasaga Beach with his wife and Kids. My wife told me to say hi but I respected his space.
Kim if you're reading this I just wanna say thank-you for completeing this song. I'm an 80s metal head but this song's lyrics and your playing and singing are in a league all their own. This song speaks to my soul. #proudtobecanadian ☺
This song makes me remember those less complicated days .Those days that were filled with awe and amusement, those days with loves that were lost and so many loves that were found. Thank you Kim for being there and Thank you Kim for still remaining. So many fond memories with all of your glorious music compilations intertwined with each of those memories and moments. Thank you Kim Mitchell
Kim. I'm a dear friend of Ted MacDonald. Do you understand that you are the greatest music in our day and age? Your unique style defines you beyond the norm. all. You have an eternal understanding that is acknowledged.
Hi John, Are you referring to Ted of Backline,AVM? If so I am a friend of his from a long time ago,I understand that he has experienced some challenging health issues. My best to him
Another beautiful song from Kim Mitchell , been listening to your misic since I was 16 and you've never disappointed . Considering I'm oushing 60 I'd say that a damn good track recored. Thank you so much for a lifetime of such wonderful music , you're a gem Kim .
One of the most underrated Canadian musicians. I first saw Max Webster in Ottawa in 1981 - I was 16 years old. and have seen him perform probably at least a dozen times since then. To me listening to Kim Mitchell is like eating comfort food on a cold winter day. It just leaves me with a feeling or warmth and a knowing that everything in the world is just fine. When I was around 20 years old, I was sitting at a rest stop restaurant in Porquis Ontario called Joe's Texaco with a bunch of friends. It was around 1am and I saw this tall skinny guy with a head of hair headed for the washroom. I told my friends I just saw Kim Mitchell walk into the gas bar. They laughed it off and didn't believe me so I got up and headed towards the door and waited for him to come out. When he did, he walked passed me and I said "Kim ?". He turned back while holding the door open and I could tell he was probably just wanting to get back on his bus and be left alone but after a brief moment his expression changed and he said "Ya". When my buddies saw this they rushed over and we chatted with Kim for a few minutes and he signed autographs for all of us. I thought, that's a classy thing for him to do especially in those early morning hours on the road. Keep the music coming my friend!!
So lovely ❤️ Your songs mean so much to my husband and me and you played a huge part in my life in the 80s. We never missed a chance to see you in concert and I credit one in Montreal for my marriage! Lol! Just celebrated 29 years! Love you Mr. Mitchell!!!
Beautiful!!!! Been a fan since I saw Max ( Lobster's ) Webster open for UFO & RUSH here in big Tulsa, Okla. I believe you were supporting "Universal Juveniles"..was BLOWN AWAY and a fan ever since!!! Great to see some new material!!! Awesome as Alway's!!
still remember the days of drinking in the playpen with my friend dave davies and watching kim and max webster play , back in those days kim was a wild party. the playpen or pigpen as we knew it by on the danforth in toronto was a good place to catch kim playing. i like the new song and hope kim does more , cause his music is missed in canada.
Proof of Kim Mitchell's rightful claim to residence in the Songwriters' Hall of Fame--this song is exquisite.... profound, poetic, soulful, eternal. Peace, love, and respect, RE-VO
Kim you are incredible. You make peoples lives like mine better by filling in the cracks with your beautiful music. Thanks for making people lives better by being yourself. I'm going to lose my voice if I ever get to see you in concert! You're a legend and a huge part of my guitar playing life. If you ever hear about a guy playing go for soda better then anyone but you... That's this guy right here.. in a couple months when I bring home my Marshall half stack.. I'll be playing Rockland wonderland in my place all the time! I can't wait! Sorry for going nuts here, it's so great to see new stuff from you Kim.. nowadays the radio is so awful.. except when legends like you come on . Cheers Kim! Rock on and lots of love from Tottenham Ont!!
Songs that grow on you more as you listen are the best..this is one of them...great song from Special K....I'm so glad that Kim is releasing new music. Can't wait to pounce on "The Big Fantasize"...This song has lasting feel deep down inside the soul. Kim knocks on the door, "Hey, I got new one....".......Let 'em in and listen...I am always amazed. Love his guitar playing....This one sliding back and forth in chord progressions while finger picking....Not easy to do--Super Talent. -----AgAc
Love it Kim... Very traditional Kim Mitchell and we all love it. Was waiting for some of Peter's high harmonies (aka: Michael Anthony in V.H.). You guys sound so amazing together. But always thought your voice was fantastic Kim... cheers and thanks for the music
You're still providing a soundtrack for my life! I had the pleasure of meeting you, years ago, where you graciously agreed to come to my car and meet my friends! That kindness left us indelibly struck as fans of not just your music, but you as well! You're as wonderful to listen to as ever! The new song hits home, just as your music always has! I thank you!
@@markhamilton8765 My ex and her two best friends who were with us, were pretty impressed at my brazenness. I literally drove to the back of the arena, walked right through the loading door, onto the covered ice surface, albums in hand. Kim was walking in the opposite direction, glancing down at my albums. His face lit up, as I'm certain mine did, as well. I greeted him heartily, and he responded in kind. There was only genuine enthusiasm on his part, when I told him I had my girl and her two friends in my car, just outside. He came out, shook everyone's hand and chatted us up for a few minutes, never seeming like he was in a hurry. That would be my first encounter with a musical artist. In hindsight, Kim was keenly aware what those few minutes meant to us. The same wisdom that is in his songs, was evidenced that evening.
@@Rock_Canadian Wow, these details only add amazement to your wonderful story. The music is one thing (and, Kim’s body of work is fantastic), but it is the people who craft the music that always intrigue me. Clearly, Kim Mitchell demonstrates so many of humans’ best characteristics including - kindness, humility, and just generally NOT being an asshole. Again, such a great story...thanks for putting out there!!
@@markhamilton8765 Speaking of assholes, it so happens that I was the admin of a Facebook page for an amazing artist from Montreal, who shall remain nameless. He was on top of the charts in 1982 with his self-titled album. This guy is an incredibly talented musician with a small but amazing body of work. I ran his Facebook page for 5 years, designed a logo for his recording company (all for free). He invited me to his home, where he played for me, and give me a copy of a yet-to-be-released album, which is incredible and I even have a credit on his last album, a remake of his debut, 35 years later. I appreciated this immensely! Back in October, two years ago, I was away from Facebook for a few days, as most of us are, if life gets busy. In any case, a group member made some disparaging comments about him, and these comments weren't moderated. He wrote me and his sister (who assisted me with admin duties) an absolutely scathing message, berating us both, and showing me his true colours. I broke ties with him right there! It's too bad, because his music is incredible, but I can't listen to it anymore, without dredging up the name calling, immaturity and abuse that ensued. It wasn't such a "fantasy" after all, being associated with this artist. He is a wolf in sheep's clothing, so guys like Kim, who are genuine, affable and appreciative of fans, is such a breath of fresh air, in retrospect.
Love this! Glad to see your still writing songs. Our wedding song was Some Folks back in 1996 and we still love that song. You are truly a legend and huge force in my songwriting and guitar playing in both Max Webster and your solo career. You always rocked Kingswood and that was our second date when you had shaking like a human being come out. Keep playing and inspiring us.
I could not respect a Canadian artist as much as I do you *Kim Mitchell*, I nominate Kim for the Nobel Prize for 'Touching Our Lives", The Man, A True Diamond", An Ocean of Love from NovaScotia. Can't wait to hear the new "Diamonds"
