Very impressed by his openness. I recall I was organizing an event at my college in '87 and and invited him and his band (Jupiters) to perform. He seemed like a determined person and was clear in how much money he wanted for the performance. We paid them RS 1500 for a 2 hr show. The very next year there was a show called Music '89 where Jupiters did Dosti, which was probably the best song of the show. Good to see he has really experienced life and become a wise man. Great interview.

What I was trying to say is that he knew his worth even back then and had clarity in what he wanted, when we hardly knew about the band. He even refers to that in his interview. Till today whatever I learned is, "Your past is a prologue of who you are today" and for example you can take Ali Azmat. I discovered today this guy while listening song "Tu Nahi Dikha Re Maula" of Jism2 composed by my favorite composer "Arko Mukherjee" and sung by "Ali Azmat". I liked his voice. It was original and extraordinary then others main stream singers. After listening the song I couldn't stop myself from knowing the person. After watching this interview I will say that he is the man of my kind. I want to be like him. Love from India

a moment that I'll never forget was back in 2006 when I accidentally bumped into my lifelong rockstar idol Ali Azmat at a summertime party in Lahore... and then we lived it up till the early hours, drowning ourselves in Black Label and his recent "Na Re Na" track blasting in the background, till the ice ran out and then he said to me "oye yar baraf ke bgheir ziyada maza karti hai" (you'll enjoy the booze more without the ice)! What a guy, love him!
