- This is where it all began! Today we visit the park where I started my calisthenics journey and look back on some old footage from that same spot. I wonder where I will be in another couple of years?

This was the place that created and sculpted an absolute LEGEND :D Onwards and upwards brother!
This is the reason why I subscribed! Full of positivity, full of nature and full of calisthenics! Love these types of videos! 👍👍
Never grow up, Derek. Please never grow up. These are the biggest most sincere smiles I've ever seen
Hi Derek! Two years ago „Advice for new vegans“ was your first video for me. Back then I had been totally new to veganism and bodyweight training. Since then I got a lot of valuable information out of your videos and still do. Thank you so much! Congratulations for all you have achieved!
Wow, this was a time for me when I was thinking about trying veganism.
Well, I guess I did not look back ever since.
I believe Simnett Nutrition vibes help a lot along the way.
Looking great as always guys,
Stay well!
Wow it’s so cool to see how much you’ve progressed and grown and also how excited you are to be back in your old stomping grounds! I love your videos and the message you’re sending. You’re such a nice guy who genuinely wants better for the world and it’s inhabitants. Keep smashing it!
Nostalgia dude *_* everyone starts small, be consistent be honest to yourself, enjoy the ride to get where you wanna be, because at the end of your journey there are still many more to conquer. Rock on Spartan!
5:54-5:58.
Probably the realest moment I've seen on youtube. Thank you for not letting fame get to you. Stay real, eat plants
And the way to get it back is to start from the beginning! Always nice to reflect to see all the progress you have made over the years...good stuff Derek!
You inspire me so much, Derek! I'm gonna keep at my calisthenics practice!
The Memories! Great job Derek. The OG's remember.
How as I been so long I remember you uploading videos from that park. Your positive attitude and dedication inspire me. Thank you.
Thank you for such a positive video. I can imagine how nostalgic that would have been for you.
OG Here and Lovin it! You’re excitement to be back is fun to watch. I can totally recall watching those. I was impressed then! Enjoy the trip.
YES!!!! The old bent bar! AWESOME! !
Solid. OG here. Trust simnett progress takes time. Keep it pushin'.......and pullin'.
I think I've been watching your channel since 20-30,000 subs... you've had the positive, unstoppable mindset since day 1 🤘love it!
I started watching your videos almost 2 years ago and those calisthenics videos were the first ones I watched! Cool to see you back and crushing it 🤘🏻

Back to where it all vegan*
Tomas Massoud I see what you did there. ;-)

Hahaha
I remember watching you at that park... big ups homie stay vegan an calisthenics over everything!
Always good to go back to your roots, keeps a lot of people humble seeing how far they've come. Another awesome video dude, big love ✌️👍
Awesome to see the old outdoor gym, liked all the videos you made there.
I recently began my vegan journey and your videos have helped a lot! Keep 'em going!
Of course I remember, it was my first calisthenics tutorial! Thank you for everything, Derek
Very cool!
Same here. Derek is a legend.
I recognise those bars....! Great job mate, good to go back there I bet. Always good to look back on your progress, I just passed 1 year as a vegan and made my 1 year transformation video on TH-cam. It’s really cool to look back, just wish I’d taken more pictures and videos. Cheers, Chris
Awesome! Always good to go back to roots and reflect!!
Wow! I LOVE this spot. So nostalgic to see you do the things that made me start calisthenics :)
Congrats Derek! Just got out of the gym and started my own calisthenics journey and really enjoying it! Dang I’m on vacation w/ fam rn and this video is really making me miss working out outside 😭😭
There's always space to move outside! Get out there and keep that journey going!
Simnett Nutrition I’ve been trying, but I guess I’m just missing home now 😂
The Bearded Bros im in the Same Situation im on vacation but we hike a Lot haha
Inzil Whatever it takes man. I just got back home, and I’m detoxing with clean food and lots of time outdoors haha
Yep - I do remember that park! And Frank Medrano was one of my inspirations too. This week I just managed to hold freestanding handstand for 40 secs. Aiming for a minute whilst training for handstand pushups and handstand pressing. Will then work on planche. Gonna start on rings next summer when I can get back outside in the UK!!! Will turn 45 in January ;)
Aahh man I love your old workout videos in that park!! 😃
Awesome seeing the old stomping grounds!
Nice to see and go back to that time you started;)
Thanks Carolien!
Never forget where you started and why you started. Very nice video.
Ive been with you for a long time!!! Thanks for so much inspiration! Keep up the good work! Nobody can deny your awesome progress!! peace
Yet here I am can't even do a chin up by myself xD but when I get back to uni in September I'm gonna start hitting the gym again with the assisted pull up machine! Fingers crossed. I'm still learning what I can and can't do cuz I have a fused back so half the things I want to do I don't even know if they are possible for me xD
Way to go good memory good memories have a safe trip and keep going can't wait till the next one
Your videos are awesome. I'm always looking forward to them. There's something about the way you edit the videos that makes them addicting lol
Great job Derek looking forward to the veg fest video , I just went tommy first veg fest today with my wife here in orlando really enjoyed it.
Nice to see you back there! Always chuckled at the sound the bar would make when you were doing pull ups!
Great post! Great to see the old park Derek!
Wow! Amazing to see that progress!
You're like a little kid back in his favourite playground! ;) LOVED THIS VIDEO! You're so humble and seeing your journey is so inspiring... Much love
Clicked so fast! How cool it is to go back to your old workout grounds? Nice to get perspective on how far along you’ve come in your strength, balance, and confidence with challenging moves. Great that you still have greater goals to work towards. Keep moving forward in fitness, Man! 💪 Great that you’re sharing the journey with Crystal. Have fun on your trip!
Thanks for the awesome comment! Will do. I've got a few vlogs to edit from it.

There's so much improve, congratulation bro! For me, my calisthenics journey began with 1 push up😁
Awesome Derek !!✌️ I remember your videos in this Park.😉 You have improved yourself so much !!💪🌱🇫🇷
Hi Derek, it's so nice to remember. Must say you used to upload a lot more videos on calisthenics those days... Why so less lately?
Oh, the memories!
The most Canadian intro ever 😂😂 x much love from uk!
You were like a kid in a candy store going back there. Awesome stuff mate. 👍👍👍👌
remember your roots! get it!
Yass! I remember this place from your vids! So fun to see you coming back there! You progressed so much💪💪
Your videos make me so happy 😄
way to go, man!
Those are some amazing moves! It's really remarkable what the body can do when you want to do more than sit on your butt (what I'm currently doing , ooops!). I just found you when I followed Nimai Delgado on Insta and the 'gram said follow you and it did not steer me wrong. You and Crystal are both so much fun to watch and I love your 'What I Eat' and grocery shopping videos. I'm 48 and seem to have forgotten how to feed myself without making it ridic complicated. So thanks for sharing. I know you're the guy with the nutrition degree, but what is Crystal's background/day job? I know--I think I know--that I saw you say she was your partner in Simnett Nutrition and that she's often behind the camera, but does she have other work or does the channel keep you both busy? Thanks again for all the great content and inspiration and I look forward to see what other goals you smash. And also that fruit fest!
"It didn´t get easier, you just got stronger"
Awesome vid man! I remember those old videos
Congrats bro! Nice video.

I first found your channel when you had 8k subscribers. "Spaghettiman" recommended you in one of his videos.
Τhank you Derek! Where's this so wonderful place?
Awesome video Derrick!!
Thanks Jacob.
so fun to see your callisthenics transformation of both body and mind!
also, small question: I just broke my wrist in a mountain biking accident and just wondering if theres any movements to continue training over the next 2 months?
OG up in herrrr!!!

HAHAHA your Gf laugh is so loveble
Loved this.
Time flies!
Very inspiring Derek! Did you work out twice a day at some point to achieve those gains? Could you talk about that that subject for the calisthenics fanatics out there? Ty, keep it up man
Derek, when I use cronometer, I struggle to get in things like vitamin E (e.g. from almonds) or calcium (e.g. from seeds) without raising my omega 6 levels.
Awesome 👏🏻 thanks 🙏🏻
Not an og, I have watched some of the old stuff, but not much. It's funny how awkward you were on camera. You've made progress in many areas. Feel proud bro.
I'm beginning calisthenics too! When next live Q&A?
Maaaan I am working on those "terror" pull ups at the moment too hahah! So damn hard XD Looking solid!
Oh yes
Whatttt a video of derek during less than 10min?!
you must have a lot of calluses on your hands! I find it so hard to practice as the bar rubs my hands. Guess I just have to tough it out eh?
