- Machakos Governor Dr. Alfred Mutua now has his very own ‘White House’, after the completion of the county government’s offices that are said to have cost Ksh.350 million.
The premises, which were open to the public on Wednesday as Dr. Mutua hosted the Council of Governors, are a sight to behold and the first thing that comes to mind is State House Nairobi.

If this really cost Ksh 350M then I might reconsider him for president. That's type of frugal spending Kenya needs. Imagine with the 40B covid fund, he would have built 114 of these🤦🏾♂️. This is the size of a referral hospital. Imagine 47 well equiped referral centres.
Mutua build the white house with a ln east wing for first lady Lilian Ng'ang'a but she threw all that out to be with Juliana.

In future it could be turned to a school or hospital if need be and help people of machakos.. More so that structure will save them alot of expenses especially for the governor himself. It also provides a platform where international investors can be bought into the seriousness of a vision and help people of Machakos by through employment opportunities..

Governor Mutua is the President Kenya needs but haven't realised yet. The good thing is he is still very young but the bad thing is he is irreplaceable and men like him come once in a lifetime. He is the Elon Musk of Kenyan leadership today. A man who challenges the society to think differently and is not afraid or intimidated by people be it talking about research or even his formula 1 dream. Yes he hasn't realized his formula 1 dream but I myself as a formula 1 fan knows how big this sport is and the opportunity it can give. That to me tells me alot about Mutua. Isabella Kithinji I can attest to that, am in Machakos on the ground. We also have water / borehole in every sub location. We just got our first tarmac after all this while yet we are 30km away from the capital city.

This is a commendable and a thorough job which is well done!! Tomorrow and the day after n many years to come Machakos will not spend money putting up same Governor's Whitehouse it will be spent on other viable projects. The only thing i want to know is why does the 1st lady get a office there. All she is is the governors wife and that's where it should end. People picked him not his family. Kenyan leaders have a habit of including their wives in things they shouldn't.

Imagine if all did this instead of misusing funds for their stomachs Kenya would look better and we may taste meaning of devolution.
@@centreflora5170 using the funds to build the office isn't bad. But an elected leader has to separate his job from his family. Now what happens if the wife doesn't get along with some people in that building? What happens if the wife gets access to funds that are meant for the county and misuses it? What happens if she gets too close to some workers and they start stealing or misbehaving? She might get in his way. Best thing to do is keep his family away from his office. That's the best thing all these leaders should do.

Damn! ksh.350m for such a structure is a BARGAIN, and in 9 months? It means governor must have used prefab construction all the way!
I will leave criticism to others but it is noted that the building will also be the county government headquarters.
Also, if the ksh 350m was part of the county government budget for a headquarters/governor's office, Mutua had to use it strictly for that purpose. Remember at the beginning of his first term when he purchased ambulances and police cars from a budget that was meant to purchase high-end Landcruisers for the administration? Poor man got in "political" trouble !

I hope he builds many other such similar government projects for his county. This buildings will remain to be in use by the people of Machakos long after Mutua is gone. I also hope he employed local talent, workers and used local building materials in the construction of that building so that that 300 million is sort of distributed amongst watu wa Machakos. Even if you supplied Uji na Mandazi daily to the construction workers for those nine months, isnt that something to the Mama Mboga on the ground?????

Kakuyuni-kangundo road tarmac, makutano-kithimani road 33km tarmac, masinga-kivandini road 19km tarmac, kenol-mua road 14 tarmac,pepe - athi river 4km tarmac machakos cancer center open, 70 standard ambulance, 8 world class ambulance fully equipped with theater equipment, machakos level 5 hospitals upgraded which was first to receive the national government equipment btw level 5s are only 12 in kenya, 6 level 4 hospital fully functional from theater to medicine and mortuary, all public primary school 909 received 10k litter tanks, 112 ECD class rooms build, kenyatta stadium completed in 2013 and 7 more stadia ongoing namely: masii, kinyui, ikombe and mavoko etc, 434 boreholes, 216 River wiers, 260 dams and water pans etc etc!!show some respect bana.

For What? Will Machakos County become a COUNTRY one day? This is a classic example of misplaced priorities and PR. Machakos people are in dire need of water, industries, (like Kitui) massive agricultural activities, but not a more than a 100 rooms building of which a 1/4 occupancy will be a dream. What a waste?
